Default Traded my Crossfire

Said goodbye to the Crossfire yesterday. I owned it for 20 months and had zero problems (except that pothole on the BlueRidge Parkway). I needed something a bit more practical so I traded it on a F150 SuperCrew Lariat. I really wasn't looking to trade so soon but I could not resist the 0 percent for 72 months offered by Ford. The dealer also gave me KKB good book price, $17,775 for my Crossfire. It was a pleasure participating in this board and also a pleasure to own a very special car, Thank you ALL.

zrdstr,

Sorry to see you go. The Crossfire may not be as practical as the F-150, but it's a whole lot more fun to drive. If you ever get tired of being practical, you can probably get a good deal on a used Crossfire.

You live in Florida, it is one of the most practical places to justify Crossfire! A Ford pick-up?

I must say that I would be manically depressed if I were you.

That's quite a drastic change. Not only to a FORD but to a SuperCrew no less. I need a drink...

Should've just done what I did. I got an F-150 XLT as well as my crossfire srt6. I got the truck for work and off-road but I use it for work alot of the time so when I want to relax I just drive the crossfire. Anyway good luck and who knows maybe you can get one of these vehicles again...cya

Good luck with your new truck bud, and sorry to see you go. I would have loved to know you were selling the car, I would have taken those wheels off your hands.

Take care!

I hung onto my Dodge Ram. I've got 197k miles, 10 years and only minor dings on mine. Hope you get that out of your F150. Sorry to see ya go but hopefully you'll check in from time to time.

Good Luck!

Did you leave a note for the future owner to come here?

I'll keep my Xfire at least 15 years. My '90 Porsche Cabrio only has 32,000 miles and I bought it in '91. I like to keep my cars a real long time. I wax them monthly and make sure to keep them spotless inside. Its like a sickness really. LOL.

I take pride when someone asks me what year my Porsche is and they wig out because they can't believe its so clean.

My wife and I bought a new Mazda RX 7 in June of '84. I finally convinced her to get out of it in '04 at 140,000+ miles. I think she'll try to keep the Crossfire that long, too.

I hear what you are saying and had a similar issue with practicality. So, I bought back the loaded Jeep Cherokee that I traded in when I bought the Xfire. So I have both now and made $4K on the purchase after 3 months. Both are 2005's.

Cuse,

"and made $4K on the purchase after 3 months"

Please explain that a little further. You bought a second car, after selling it, and made money?
The next time I'm in the market for a car, I want you to do the dickering with the salesman. I'll even pay air fare so you can come here.

Ha, I know it's crazy.

It was a loaded 2005 Grand Cherokee Laredo, leather, electric everything, roof, nav, dvd, 4.7 V8...Basically, I traded it in for $24,500 and bought it back for $20,500. I actually made out a little better because it is certified pre-owned now and has 8/80 rather than 7/70. They put new pads on it as well. So a bit over 4K net.

Good for you. Just repeating this. I'll contact you to act as the middleman.

Why was that necessary. I'm just going to bite my tongue, but I want to sell mine to move to a car that keeps value, and is one of my dreams cars...shame on me.

I want a car that will appreciate in value too. I also only want to pay less that 30K for it. I want to race it, hot rod it around, and use it daily, and not have to spend any money maintaining it.

I'm Still searching, if you find one let me know.

Please respect.
