Crossfire Dash Plaque
Re: Crossfire Dash Plaque
I like the idea very much. my 2 cents on dimensions are to keep it in the style/taste of the interior...not too big. I would probably put mine on the cross member between the seats.
Build number is a good idea, build date is good too...by the way, I may have not ready thoughly enough through the threads, but where exactly on the door panel does it tell you the "Build date"? I see numbers but can't decipher what the "date" is...any help for the painfully slow Sennaspirit?

Re: Crossfire Dash Plaque
The "build date" is just the build month. It appears on the drivers door sticker, on the door itself.
There has been limited interest shown on this. The pre-production and set up costs could make the plates a bit pricey. I envisioned originally placing on the glove box door.
Thoughts have been expressed to individualize the plaques with everything from body type, SN, build date, and owner. Because these would be aluminum plates, putting this info on could raise the cost by as much as $25 each, consensus suggests leaving a space that the individual could have a local engraver apply whatever the individual would want.
I am posting the pic of the prototype again here if anyone is interested. I have SRT engine plates coming for 10 forum members and expect to see them within the next two weeks. When they arrive, I will take a picture and post.

Re: Crossfire Dash Plaque
SRT...honestly, if the Individualization/customization is an issue. Just offer the basic plate as designed. I'm assuming this is aluminum and leave it to us to have the thing engraved with the details we wanted. You have space below the Car graphic and the type below for this. Any Jewelry store will do the engraving.
As for the dimensions you can find a common dimension that would be tasteful to suite both locations (glovebox or crossbeam) as desired by the owner. Customization at manufacture is a pain and too much to worry about on your end.
I like it and I'm definitely in!

Re: Crossfire Dash Plaque
Here is an image of the final dash plaque.
From suggestions, I dropped the Chrysler name, adjusted the picture size slightly, went with the image of the concept car (from which ALL Crossfires evolved) and left a small open area that individuals can have personally engraved if they choose. There will be a self-adhesive (most likely foam) on the back.
Doing all this has lowered production costs and the price will be about the same as the SRT engine plates, $18.50.
I have recorded the following forum members as wanting to get one (some names have a ? after them because they specified coupe/roadster or were unclear). If you want to be removed, please let me know. Likewise advise if you want to get one and are not on the list.

Re: Crossfire Dash Plaque
OK, I am traveling next week and got a little impatient. I printed out an "aluminum" paper mockup actual size to give an idea where I will place this. Remember this is "aluminum" paper and the genuine article will have much better sheen. BTW you will need to scrub the area with alcohol thoroughly before ANY adhesive will stick. There has been some discussion about size. This is about a small as we can go and still get good detail of the emblems and concept image.
I will be placing an order for 30 pieces next week after I get back and can see the genuine product. Approximately half will be gone to those who have expressed an interest. Anyone else wanting in, let me know.
If you have an SRT6 and did not see the info on the ID plates for the supercharger please check that thread.
Thanks for being patient...

Re: Crossfire Dash Plaque
srt six ... a great job on the design!
the plaque placed on the lower right corner of the glove box lid seems like a better fitment location imo.
ok... some sample placement locations in my eyes:
~ probably won't work here... due to the air bag light obstructions behind. but may work on euro cars.
~ not bad here.
