Some 17 year old girl hit me on wednesday on my way home from work. It messed up the back end of my car. Visual estimate is at $2,300. for a new bumper, taillight, exhaust system. This is just visual however, they have to do a tear down to assess any structural damages so the price might go up. Alot of plastic is melted from the rear end from the exhaust being all mangled. It was dripping plastic when I got home. I am worried about the exhaust being bent up the way it is. I am afraid the cats have been cracked/damaged. As you can see in the pics the entire exhaust is hanging very low. I don't want to go get this thing smogged a few years down the road and have to pay for new cats. I don't know if they are going to replace the whole exhaust or just the back section. This is the magnaflow muffler on there right now. My exhaust guy is gonna hook me up with a new system- true duals with an x pipe and 2.25" or 2.5" pipes running back on both sides of the diff like it should be. gotta cut away some of the plastic around the fuel system--No mufflers-- with some nice 4" double wall tips.

That sucks. I totally know how you feel. I was hit not even 12 hrs after I bought my car!!!

 

I miss chrome steel bumpers.

The damage can be fixed by a good autobody shop, although it still does suck nonetheless to see your car damaged. Hopefully the damages don't exceed more than the estimate already quoted. Good Luck and stay safe.

Look on the bright side - perhaps you can get an exhaust system (Borla?) absorbed into the damage!

 

Ouch! That hurts.... I hope this didn't happen when you were going 151 MPH in stealth mode (midnight with no lights).... Yeah, I read your previous thread. Glad no one got hurt! Good luck with that. Gonna cost that honey some money.

 

I was surprised that the damage was not more, I got hit by a Civic Del Sol. It was pretty smashed up and wouldn't start. the hood was buckled and the fender, headlights hanging out by the wires lol. I felt bad for her, she was crying telling me how she just go the car. It's too bad- she was only 17 cuz she was hot. Oh well she gonna pay. Overall I am proud of the way it took the hit. Hopefully there is no frame damage or I won't be doing 151 in this car again. When I get it all fixed I will post some more pics and a video of my new exhaust.
