Good thinking. Killed two birds with one stone....or license plates as it were in this case.

My Crossfire which goes back in about 6 weeks is XFXFXFXF, the replacement, my new Porsche Boxster is PORSCHUH because I've never said it that way and am always being corrected. But the best one I've seen in a while was on a Mini Cooper S coming to work this morning, LTSPOLN8.

I do, but can't say what it says. Don't want people to be able to find the car and my house

I could have sworn that I already posted in this thread, but I guess I didn't. Here's what I have:

XHIBIT A on the Crossfire: I had the tag on my Jaguar X-Type first. I wanted the tag to incorporate the type of car that I had and my nickname ("A"). So, when I traded-in the Jag, I kept the tag and figured that the "X" could represent the "Cross" in Crossfire.

MISNMONZ on the Envoy: "Missing Monz" - Monz was my Dad's nickname.

my liscence plate just says "04 24" and I don't like it, really shoddy work. Looks like its ben scribbled on there. Oh wait, those are the damn paper plates. Ugh, I hate driving around with paper plates. dag gum dealer needs to hurry up...though there wont be any custom liscence plate for me... at least not for now. but i'm liking some of the creative things everyone is coming up with.

I ordered plates from PennDOT, but they aren't up to speed with some of the other states yet. You can't check online to see if your request is available or not. So you fill out a form with 3 requests and they give you the first one that is available/acceptable.

So I went with:
AMG PWR
SRT-6
or
KOMPRSR

If you can't get one of your choices, maybe you should try "SRTSIX". Just a thought that came to my feeble mind when I read your post.

Thanks,

Hi Steve, in the US it varies a bit by state. In Illinois there are many plates themes i.e. background - anything from sports to Alumni to charitable causes (mine are the standard issue for my state), and you can order vanity plates or Custom plates. Vanity plates (more expensive) can be any seven letters as long as they are not offensive (We do stretch it a bit). Custom plates (less expensive) can be any set of letters and numbers up to seven. There are some rules in Illinois where the numbers have to be last on the plate for cars (such as Xfire 1) and first on the plate for trucks, (such as 1 Xfire)and you can not mix letters and numbers. Some other states allow you to mix them, such as California. You can do i.e. 4U N 4ME or RU14ME.

The sticker on the upper right (color will change by year), is the state renewal sticker. You have to renew it every year.
