Post Latest build number for 2005 crossfires?

Hello everyone,

Does anyone know what was the last build number (last car built) for crossfires for 2005 model year?

Also...where can this information be found?

Also...is there a further breakdown of how many of each model type was built?

Thanks

Not exactly. Chrysler doesn't provide definitive production run numbers to the public. However, Crossfires are produced sequentially, starting from 000001 (last 6 digits of the VIN). There may be some discrepancies to the sequence and model years if units were set aside to become roadsters or SRTs.

That said, various forum members have contributed data to help better determine as close as possible actual numbers.

For example, C_Plunkett wrote:

"After playing around with the Chrysler website recall search, I discovered:

025422 is an '04 coupe
025423 is an '05 coupe

000041 is the first valid VIN in the system. Assuming there were no skips in the sequence, there were either 25382 or 25422 total 2004 Crossfires produced, depending on what happened to those first 40."

I have looked at Chrysler's recall notification site as well and found the following:

The first valid last 8 digits of the VIN for a Crossfire in the recall system is 4X000014 (differs slightly from C_Plunkett's findings).
The last 05 unit appears to be 5X061056.
The last 06 unit, to date, in the system is 6X069059.

I know of no publically available numbers that give a breakdown by model types, configuration, color, etc. But you can be relatively certain that close to 70,000 Crossfires exist in the world. That's one Crossfire for every 100,000 humans.

After a little further looking, 25422 wasn't really the last '04. 25427, 25430, 25433, and 25436 are 04's with 05's mixed in between. I'm sure there are other 04's after that so someone would have to have lots of patience to check every possible number in the system to determine the actual last '04. I'm guessing this was to start production of the new models (base, roadster, SRT6) introduced in 05 while they were finishing up the last 04's. There may not be any overlap in the 05's and 06's since no new models were introduced.
