Spare tire
Spare tire
You know guys; I've been thinking that we could make an adapter to fit a small diameter safety spare to our bolt patterns. I wonder if anybody is aware of spare tire that requires air be added in order to use, keeping the size of the spare down. Kind of like they use to do back in the late 60's. having an adapter machined is not that big a deal if we get a few orders, the trick is finding the collapsible spare. We could run a FEM on it here at work and make model for the machine shop/vendor.
Re: Spare tire
Does anyone know if the Crossfire has a Limited Slip Differential? If it doesn’t then a smaller diameter balloon spare would work, if the traction control is turned off. Does anyone know of a machine shop that would be interested in cutting an adapter? I spoke with a couple of auto enthusiast stress guessers here and they felt there shouldn’t be any problem from a stress point of view as long as the design was good. Again, is anybody interested or have expertise in this area? Input would be appreciated.
