Sales Must Be UP
Re: Sales Must Be UP
As a new member I take issue with the tone of your message. First, the implication is that we are too stupid to read through the early posts. Second, you actually invite another member to prepare to ridicule or criticize new members for daring to seek the opinion of others, which I thought was the reason for having an owners interest forum in the first place.
Say the word, moderator, and I'll take my interest to another board. In the meantime, be so kind as to provide the definition of the role of moderator, as I believed it was to maintain sanity in the posts, and to prevent matters from escalating out of hand.
To the rest of the "old" users of this fountain of knowledge I apologize in advance for wasting your time.

Re: Sales Must Be UP
No, no WINKXFR. The Moderator HDDP did come across as rather nasty and patronizing. By the way, I lurked on this list for a few weeks before I bought. Another member put me onto it. And - I do have sense enough to search for answers instead of asking questions again. In fact, your past postings helped me make a decision to buy.
I believe I have been a good citizen of this board so far. I also feel the same about the other new owners/members. Maybe HDDP is just having a bad hair day.
I might suggest that you create a new category called New Owners/Member or some such. That would keep all the "I'm new here" post in a space that would be more appropriate. Frankly it has been comforting to me to meet some new owners and share experiences.
Cheers,
Steve

Re: Sales Must Be UP
This forum has the strangest vibe of any other forum i have or do belong to.
The thing is...I kinda like it.
I just keep coming back to share ideas with interesting people.
I like hearing from the people that have been here longer than I.
I also like hearing from the "new" people as they can bring new perspective.
Oh and just incase any new guys now the trick I am still looking for 50 hp.

Re: Sales Must Be UP
Alright guys relax, it was just a comment about four pages of new members in the last month. I'm not dissing anyone and actually very happy that we have new Crossfire owners.
What may be helpful to some of you is to post specific questions under the appropriate topics. eg. questions about wheel spacers would be posted in the "Wheels, Brakes, Tires & Suspension section. etc. etc. etc.
There's not much we haven't covered on this forum, so if you have a question, give it a little search. Although if you get stuck and can't find an answer, post it and if anyone has the answer....
FYI: there are no CHEAP 50 hp aftermarket products for the car, there are no off the shelf super chargers, there are no software programs that will allow you to do custom mapping, there are no bolt on headers, there are no larger bore throttle bodies, no cold air intake kits, there are no quick fixes to the low horsepower to weight ratio we have with the car. There also is no support from Daimler Chrysler and most, if not all of the Chrysler dealerships don't even know how to work on the car.
There are however a few goodies, nice wheels, springs, dampers, cat back exhaust systems. That's pretty much it... Oh yeah, and someone said they found a cool cup holder on E-BAY !!! LOL
So chill out MARKR6754, I was not blasting you or any of the new members...
It must be a full moon... I'm sticking to the Racing Forum from now on... Newbies ran me out of town... LOL

50 real HP seems to be the magic number we would all like to get.
And just an aside to the "newbies" HDDP has done a bunch of research and I for one, thank him for his time spent. So give him a break, his clutch must have slippin' that day.

Re: Sales Must Be UP
I am a new member and I could easily be one that he is referring to. I did a search regarding condensation on the head lights and found nothing. FirebaseD was kind enough to explain the problem. I also learned that most members referred to the problem as "fog", rather than "condensation". That explained the lack of success in my search.
I have read nearly all the old posts and obtained a lot of good information from them.
I belong to a number of internet forums. This is one of the few where I see that a moderator will not take the time to assist new members and starts a thread complaining about questions being asked.
I did not read it as a "joke". To me, it sounded like a complaint about new members.
I have gotten some good information from this forum, both from reading past posts and directly from members.

TO: All New Members of the Forum
From: FirebaseD
Subject: Welcome Aboard
Yes I said it, I said welcome... here you will find many kinds of people, all (or most) are Crossfire owners. Some are hard to get along with at times (like me) and others are a blast all the time. But we all hope that on this forum everyone can find a place to fit, if it's giving good input, telling a good joke, or just hanging out now and then, you are all welcome and we hope you will stay with us.
It's all done in love Brothers and Sisters so jump in and find your area in the sand box and enjoy.
Hooah
note: HDDP is a great guy and he races (also Woody) the Crossfire on the track, they are both full of good information if your looking for ways to make your crossfire kick azz down at the local red light.

Hey Mark (Napasanaoma). Yes, it seems there are a number of Xfire owners in Ohio. Not too many with owners named Mark, though.
I'm wondering at your choice of login name. Is it related in some way to wines from the Napa and Sonoma valleys in California? I prefer Chilean wines personally...especially the new Carmeneres.
One of our members is looking into a day trip to the Ohio Transportation Research Center near East Liberty. then we can all get together and admire one another's rides.

Re: Sales Must Be UP
I'll get the party started with the hits from the last year...
I have a rattle in my rear hatch.
I have wind noise in my door.
I just bought a $20,000 car as an 18 year old, does that make me the richest 18 year old ever on the face of the earth?
How old is everyone else?
Does everyone else know that millionaires don't drive these cars?
What wax should I use?
Should I drive my car in the snow?
Should I drive it in the sun?
Should I leave the top down?
Should I **** in the glove compartment only under emergency?
And the dreaded... How much oil do these things take? Should i just switch to a 20w-50 castrol?
Oh and since nothing new ever happens on these cars, we get the whole off topic weird stuff like, I'm thinking about getting a new cat should i get a maine coon, or a persian?
And then finish with a bunch of these lame things.
Lay off HDDP he has ripped apart his whole car out of basically boredom for this forum. I commend him and got his back for if nothing else putting on a good show.
