Crossfire Racing May 6th + 7th
Crossfire Racing May 6th + 7th
I know this should go into the racing section, but I'm hoping to see some more Crossfires out at the track as spectators for the National Auto Sports Association (NASA) regional race weekend which will see my little black #431 coupe as the only Crossfire competing (Again) I'll be running four events on Saturday and four events on Sunday, beginning at 8:40 am and ending at 4:20 pm.
Willow Springs International Raceway is a 2.5 mile road course and considered "The Fastest Track In The West" located approximately 75 miles north of Los Angeles off of Highway 14. Directions can be found on their website http://www.willowspringsraceway.com
For those of you who have never attended a NASA road race event, you'll see many different racing categories with everything from the Vette / Viper challenge to the TT class for street prepared vehicles. You can visit their website at: http://www.nasaproracing.com
The track has a nice little restaurant / bar right next to the Hot Pit area and you'll be able to stroll through the paddock and view some of the best racing sportscars in the Southern California area. I will have a small staging area with a few chairs and a pop-up tent if you want to come hang-out.
Admission is only $10 per person for a great afternoon of racing. I hope to see a few of you out there waving the flag for the Crossfire.

HDDP… if things had gone as planned, I would be in Laguna Beach today (my daughter lives there). We definitely would have loved to see the XF431 (looks great by the way) in action… and would have been there cheering you on.
My wife and I had planned to leave this past Monday with the XF. However due to transmission ailments we are flying out Monday to the wife's family in San Jose and then catching a flight to Asia on Thursday.
We are disappointed with the delay of the dealership’s diagnosis causing the X-country trip to occur late summer. If there is a race on your schedule at that time, count the 3 of us there… me, the wifey and the CROSSFIRE!
Don’t worry… I won't talk too much.

You now have an official race car there! Gutted on the inside and good to go! (on the technical side, it may not be street legal especially when the headers and downpipes go in... an emissions nightmare for the streets of CALI).
...but my point is, without the interior insulating the heat particularly from the floorpan and firewall, its gonna be hot as heck in there! I remember this from my days running NASCAR. its bad enough with the nomex race suit/gloves/helmet!
i am sure you have this covered but longacreracing.com carries all that heat protectors and such and they are quick with their shipments. they even provide you space on their website to create "racing team pages"...
so potential sponsors can browse prospects...
if you make the mid-ohio run, i believe you will draw a very large XFF.org community there to cheer The Crossfire Racing Team on!!!
cheers...
