Any Chrysler employees order a Crossfire recently through their special deal?

Now I'm thinking I should have had mine delivered to a local dealership - due to Lapeer just being backed up with everything. Co-worker got a call yesterday to go pick his up at Lapeer on Friday. So, possibly could get a call next week to go get it (after weekend w/o it). I won't bet on it though.

By giving the employees a great lease rate they ensured clearing out they 5,000 car inventory they had and will have these cars out on the streets getting the car back into peoples minds. A large portion of the Crossfires already sold to the public are rarely used as daily drivers so they aren't seen too often on the road (as shown by the numerous threads on here about people getting followed in traffic just to see the car). One of the main sections on the information for the Employee Lease Program states that one of the purposes in allowing employees to lease cars cheaply is to show off the car and allow prospective customers a chance to look the car over and use it for test drives. The guidelines actually encourage giving the car to prospective customers for up to 7 days at a time and showing the car off to people who inquire about it. So in a way this is cheap advertising.
I figure the company had a choice-let them sit on the dock and rot or get them out on the streets and in the publics head again and take their chances at auction in 6 months to a year. At least that way they will get something for them, compared to nothing by sitting in Baltimore.

never looked at it that way. thanks for the insight. i know around here we see plenty of them so it probably won't matter, but i know in other parts of the country they're pretty rare so hopefully it will turn out for the better.

This is great for DChryslers bottom line, but does nothing for us owners. The only thing that will come out of this is that our cars will lose value (subjective) very quickly. In retrospect DChrysler should have marketed this car a bit more aggressively, and targeted the market that could afford (subjective) it. If DChrysler used the same market strategy that they used on the 300's and Pacifica sales would have been better. One of the main things that is hurting the Crossfire is quality service or the lack thereof, most Techs are either poorly trained or are well trained and their hands are tied by the Service Director and Warranty Dept. In my case I lucked out and have a great Dealer with a great service dept, and they take great care of me and my XFire. When you leasee's need service you will see what most people (excluding myself) on this Forum feel about DChrysler Service regarding the XFire.
What will happen when all of the lease cars are returned, they will end up as program cars and end up back on Dealer lots for a 1/3 of their cost. My 2005 Roadster Limited was purchased new in 2004, and the dealer would not budge off sticker ($41,630.00) and have never regretted it. I am in it for the long haul, I plan on keeping my Roadster Limited for a very long time. One thing that I can say is that when you finally get your car, you are in for a great time & ride and hopefully you will not have any service issues before your lease is up. Congrats and enjoy your New Ride!!!

Just found from my Dad that he can pick up the Crossfire on Wednesday!!! I won't be getting it until a week after though because of finals and me being in Virginia.

Ours came in yesterday...we go to pick it up tomorrow at 4!!! Also, my dad said something about the company paying for gas also like his Jeep. Talk about an inclusive deal! Also, noticed the build date on it was 11/11/04. Quite a while ago...haha

is mine gonna be the last to come in?
did any of you that are receiving them order pretty late? or in the first couple days? i didn't order until almost a week after the program started. my car has said lapeer for over two weeks, but doesn't have a ship or arrive date posted.
what's this about company gas? maybe to fill it up the day you receive it.

Still waiting on mine. System shows its been delivered to Lapeer on 4/29 - yet the Marshalling Center is telling me they still haven't received it. They've told me its probably sitting in a lot near the Center. They also told me that its a 3 day turn around time from the time they get it at Lapeer.
Oh yeah, I ordered mine the first day you could order the car. I think what's happening is they are getting overloaded with Crossfires, and getting them out as fast as possible.
The wife's SRT6 shows its still not shipped out of Baltimore yet. So, we both just wait again another week...
