WHEN its in Ill report back.
Hope you're not disappointed Woody. This new SB has been fantastic improvement and I'm certainly not disappointed but there is still a delay. I'm not sure if it's TB or SC engagement/delay when I quickly accelerate from lower R.P.M. I realize Superchargers don't have lag like Turbos, but doesn't our Magnetic Clutch enter the DELAY equation? I didn't notice this before because I don't slam the pedal fast, as you do in autocross. Perhaps with your highly modded engine, you may not notice it like I do. I look forward to your report.

Just got mine installed yesterday on my SRT6.

Quick review:

First impression, couldn't feel much difference between all settings, that was the first impression.

Then I put the car in 3rd gear and just drove it gently stabbing the throttle. There was a definite difference between off and Green. I tried Red and there is a noticeable "snap" when you blip the throttle. That was yesterday afternoon!

Today, I had the opportunity to play with it some more. Definitely crisper acceleration AND shifting in the Red mode. On full throttle kick down there is still a slight delay, but just touching the throttle brings immediate acceleration. Acceleration from a stop "seems" stronger with no need to hold the brake and rev the engine to 1000-1500 RPM. Wheelspin actually feels better controlled.

Staying within the speed limit, there is a nice wide road through and industrial area with few cars, I took it for a "road test". A new 370Z pulled up along side at a stop sign and I was able to leap ahead (and pull away) from the stop sign.

I know it supposedly does nothing more than make the throttle more responsive, but like so many others have stated, it sure makes it feel faster.

Woody, yours has been ordered, you should get it by mid-week. Can't wait to hear your opinion.

Thanks,

Karl

I would love to, just a little too far from SoCal.

remember gentlemen, you still have to do a throttle reset in order to clear the memory of your casual driving style to get the full benefit...it doesn't happen automatically...unless you are a hot foot all the time....do a throttle reset...sometimes it takes a couple of resets to make it work...

Yes, there is a fair amount of casual driving. Thank you for the reminder. I did the reset awhile back and then just kinda forgot about it. Bob

Even if you 'think' you are on it all the time, I am sure you could benfit from a reset, as traffic does not allow people to be on the car unmercifully all the time

IIRC it is about 200 miles. Just do a reset Saturday morning before we take off.

SRTSIX,

I see that there are still two models for auto cars. One model for the Base/Limited and one for the SRT. With the old SB, if a SRT owner purchased a SB for the Base/Limited it made the throttle response very sensitive and a lot of people liked that. Would the same follow suit here? If a SRT owner purchased the selectable SB for a Base/Limited and selected the "RED" setting would the throttle response be even quicker than that of the SRT model of selectable SB in the "RED" setting?

Just curious.

Thanks,
KrzyFast

I would guess around 2 feet. In an SRT6 I am thinking of placining in the spot with the "dead" silver switch that would normally operate the retractable wing. the button appears to be the same size.

I will have to see if they can clarify this. With no experience, I can't say.
