The day I've always dreaded has finally come. The "little car" has got to go. 2005 limited roadster, Graphite w/ cedar interior. 6 speed manual behind a S/C SRT motor. Runs and drives like it should have from the factory. Also comes with a full winter wheel/tire set.
$13,500 obo.

It would help for a full set of pictures, a VIN, and just why are you selling it?
Re: 2005 Unicorn
Ok, Im interested. And while puctures woukd help, there are questions that nust be answered. So, let's get serious here:
Miles on the car?
Miles on motor?
Where did motor come from?
Who did the build?
Have you upgraded the brakes?

Re: 2005 Unicorn
Does it start with the key ?
Does the spoiler work ?
Does the cruise control work ?
Standard, or aftermarket intercooler ?
Re: 2005 Unicorn
There are some pics in my profile, I can take more as requested.
Car has 55k
Motor has around 7k.
The donor was a wrecked srt with 4k
Standard intercooler
I built it with my brother in law then sent it to Renntech to sort out the ecu.
Stock brakes- I have ceramics just haven't gotten around to doing them.
I decolored the guage pack so it's now a light orange so it lookes much nicer than the green against the cedar.
Otherwise, it's stock and everything (key, spoiler, cruise, top) all work as if came from the factory.
You cant tell anything has been changed unless you open the hood, or get on the gas.

And, I would love to keep it. I had no intention of getting rid of it. But, it's come time to buy a house and I have to find the capitol somewhere.
Right now this is the only place you'll see it. I know I could sell it faster on the street (my wifes coke head friend offered me 14k) But, I'd like to find someone here that interested and truly appreciates the beauty of the cars. Rather than some go fast kid that will just beat the hell out of it.

Re: 2005 Unicorn
Man, what it needs (and I know this 'cause I have a limited and have driven two SRTs) is a brake upgrade. And I DO NOT mean just ceramic pads....
And if not for Renntech, Rudy or Josh -the car is an orphan if it develops a weird problem.... not sure what is better: A six speed with an SRT motor, or an SRT with auto.
I will say, I had no idea anyone had made such an animal.

Re: 2005 Unicorn
You're right, it is a bit of an orphan. That's why I'm looking for a good home here. As for the brakes, yes an upgrade would be nice. But, here in suburban Chicago where there's a cop on every corner it's hardly been a justifiable expense. And, one of the biggest complaints I've heard about the SRT has been the lack of a manual trans. I not trying to deny any of your points. This is a car that was built the way I (and many others) wish it had been built by AMG. And, it's not a car for everyone. Like I told friends every time they talked smack when I would run into a problem, "if you want an easy build that anyone can duplicate, go buy a mustang". My biggest drive when getting this on the road was nobody has one because "it cant be done". I'm truly sorry if I sound bitter. I mean no harm. I had big plans for her, and
I miss my baby already, and she's still in the garage.

Re: 2005 Unicorn
3 hours from me... Probably less with my poor judgment of speed limits Not to mention there's a real chance of me being in Chicago on business. The only reason I haven't made an offer already is the Crossfire being my daily driver. Oh the joys of being an exceedingly financially responsible landlord...
Re: 2005 Unicorn
Color combo is what is keeping me away. If it was aero blue with the dark grey interior I would be begging my wife to no end. Unfortunately i'm not in a position to be able to make any kind of offer, or even do much more than dream about an SRT engine in front of the 6 speed.
Re: 2005 Unicorn
Just saying.
Re: 2005 Unicorn
It was a daily driver for 3 years. Since then it only comes out in winter enough to keep it in shape for the spring. And, onehundred80, really? I'm selling a car that doesn't because there's not enough pics and postings? If someone is interested and not local we can set up a meet with another member that is. Then you can get an opinion from someone you trust. Hell, set it up with Rudy. I'm sure he'd love to see it.
