I am assuming everyone is joking.... Because it is obvious from the first picture he will be working on an old lotus esprit. One of my favorite cars. I am sure he won't be modding it into a submarine.

Correct!!! I was hoping everyone was joking. I thought I was among car guys here that could easily figure it out. Julia is leaning against one in the photo above. She is 5'9 and look at where the roof is in relationship to her waist. Now who is going to figure out the other part? The first car I ever fell in love with was the Aston DB5 in Gold Finger. I am not going to try to make the car cruise under water. I would rather measure my speed in MPH than knotts. Speaking of which my goal is to get as close to 200 as possible on a very strict budget.

I actually prefer the look of the older lotus esprit from the 70's and 80's. the newer models aren't as nice but they are quick. I knew exactly what you were talking about when I saw roger Moore. I believe in the spy who loved me he had the white submarine lotus. It was the next movie where the burglar alarm blew it up (I hated seeing such a beauty destroyed). He moved on to a maroon model that was even nicer. In pretty woman they used a white lotus. So did you get one yet? What year and color? Just curious. Don't tell me you are turning it into a convertible. I think that is impossible.

I found a black '89 in very nice condition with 35K miles. I picked that particular Bond photo because it was the first movie with a Lotus. I thought the Pretty Woman car was silver but could be wrong. For what I want to do, I need an '89 or newer as it had the better transaxle that was also used in the V8 Esprit. I need to sell my baby inorder to move ahead on the new car. The clue to the engine swap is the other photo. hurry up and figure it out so I can post a picture of the power train! Hope someone who will take good care of my Crossfire will step up so I can get busy in the garage

Curious to know what you feel the actual value is with it modded the way you have it.
I'm not asking as a potential buyer ....just wondered.

Good luck with the sale if you do follow through and a buyer agrees to your price
Also good luck with the next project car and hope you will create a build thread here even if it isn't another Crossfire

Thanks Gary, If the car sells I will find an appropriate place to post the build and will smeak my way into events like the Dragon. I have too many friends in this community to not stay in touch. I really have no idea how to value the car. Probably in the SRT range. If you add up all the costs to duplicate the car and then offer me less, you will probably own it. I am very attached to this car. Someone I trust to take car of this car would probably get a better deal than sone I don't feel comfortable with. if no one wants it, I will not be dissappointed keeping it. I have a lot of blood sweat and tears in this car. When I built this car, only Brabus had figured out the electronics and they were not talking. It took two long years of research to only come up with an unproven theory. It was pretty scary pulling he V6 with no idea if I could make it run. There probably aren't many Crossfires with this much labor in it. It turns heads everywhere I go. Just the sound of it makes people stare and think "what the ......" It always draws a crowd at shows. People love the factory look of the engine swap.

I,m feeling this not going to last long , just who it going to be ,. BIGKID haS NOT GOT WIND OF THIS YET .iT Valk color , Pizzaguy been looking , JohnBOOK would maybe ? Doc may have three , Then there doc jane who just lost one in a fire and could drive this beast the way should . thin there OLD FRANC , he would need depends for this car, but he would have a smile on his face LOL , KIm in Fl she love speed , Dan sold his , could he make come back , thin Ann has the BIG SNAKE . could she would she buy a snake killer HMMMMMMMMM LOL This such great car man ! going be fun to see who jump on it , Hope it land in southeast , Good Luck on the Sale

Not a Hemi, I thought the Coyote was an easy clue! Here is a picture of the Ford Coyote V8 mated to the Renault transaxle whiich is used in '89 and newer Lotus' including the 350hp Lotus V8. The Lotus V8 is a 3.5L twin turbo quad cam engine that can get a Lotus up to about 178mph. The n/a Coyote engine is a 5.0L 412hp and the Boss 302 version has about 450hp. Electronics are no problem as Ford sells a stand alone ECU to encourage putting this engine into other project cars. The new Ford Coyote V8 is the standard Mustang GT engine since 2011.

Thats going to be insane!!

Those new Mustang motors are no joke.. and I dont what it is about that car but I have always loved it. It looks like a MR2 with some lambo in it... Good luck with the project Bob, like stated earlier, post progress here so we can see the new beast transformed.

Bob, I just picked up another car a few months ago or I would be all over this

That is the conversion I am intending to do to mine one day, maybe next time you get the itch, you build something for me LOL

If anyone can do anything quick so I don't lose the car I am looking at, you can have this awesome car for $16,000 Guys, help me spread the word. I really don't want to advertise anywhere else as I want this car to stay in the family. I would love for Pizza Guy to have it. I will never forget the look on his face after he rode i it at the dragon. His face was frozen for a while with a huge smile. If someone does something quick, I am very motivated.

This is a great chance to own a sorted finished V8 monster. Not many of these come up for sale. I am only aware of one V8 Crossfire that ever changed hands and that was in Germany.

To quote a guy earlier in this thread... "you have no idea how tempted I am..."

At the Dragon, I remember thinking that "... this is the perfect engine for this car..." and "... those brakes - my god, those brakes..."
Problem is, I'm kinda hell-bent on quitting my job next year and working for myself. Not so sure how soon I'll be making enough money to make my rent, let alone have two cars!

Damnit Bob....I am right in the middle of finishing this coupe...and you go and do this.....I can't, but I have a son who has been looking around for a car, not sure he wants an SRT, so I will show this to him. The only problem I could see, is he will need financing, and it won't bring what he will need...because the vin and yr....is what it is...I will try my friend....

Correct, the bank will only loan on it as a V6 n/a car. I have one guy who is trying to get Car Max to just pay him for his car. He would give me that in cash and then finance the rest as a 2004 n/a car. Sell you son one of your SRT's and buy this?? you would have two great cars that are both fun to drive but with very different personalities! You will never have to remember which car you are in.

Doc, glad you chimed in. Let me explain the differnce between my car and a modded SRT in terms you and I can appreciate from our old drag racing days. think of two cars that both run a 12.00 ET, one has a small block and one has a big block. I think you understand the differnce in torque. But my car is amazing in the twisties and you would have to drive the car to know how this car powers out of a turn.

you don't have sell me...I will show it to him tonight. He really doesn't want an SRT....but this may be something that interests him....There have been some great buys on here for SRT's ....but this is really one of kind.....I don't think many on here get it...but it truely is a one of kind..there are others that are one of kind as well, but all the v8s are a little different from each other....making each one unique...

One differnce between my car and the 55K's is that I have absolutely no heating problems. I live in Dallas where it gets very hot! I initially had trouble sitting in traffic when I was using two 12 inch electric fans which is all that can fit in a 55K unless you make the modifications bigkid did. I switched to the C43 mechanical fan and shroud and installed a 14" pusher fan in front. this set up is very similar the the C43. No problem ever since I did that.
