Not to go off topic... but this is exactly why I preferred the base coupe. No power or heated seats to break down. And no leather seats to crack. My cloth seats are perfect after 55K miles and still look brand new. The seat still slides up and down perfectly with the lever.

Anyway, your car sounds like a great deal. I wish I could upgrade to an SRT but I love my car and can't give it up. I can only handle one Crossfire at a time.

I guess your Burtonsville visits must have got you thinking about your Chevelle! Can't wait to see it, bring it when its done and good luck with the car.

you almost have to stand on your head but if you shine a flashlight under the set by the ebrake theres a plug. mine came loose and driver controls stopped working and seat belt chime quit. shoved my hand in the with needlenose and pushed the plug in. everything works again! hope it saves you a few trips to the stealer

I've been all over the underside of the seat. All plugs that I could find look like they're tight. Not sure I looked by the e-brake side though. You know what? My seatbelt alarm doesn't work either! I took it in to the dealer a couple of years ago for that and they tried replacing everything to no avail. They just gave up! I didn't care because everything else worked and the alarm was a PITA! Perhaps that plug has been working itself loose. Everything else works though. Thanks, I'll check it out.

Man, you bombed this thread to complain about the seats?! Seriously though, the SRT seats are cloth, Alcantara to be precise. There are some leather parts along the edges, but they hold up well.

Ha! Man, you got it. I love the SRT6, but I want to feel the ground shake when I turn the key! If I sell the Xfire, that should pay for the engine I'd like to build for it!

It's real easy to unscrew the seat bolts and lift the seat up. Makes working underneath a lot easier. A set of star sockets can be purchased at Autozone for about $6. Sorry to see ya sell. You may regret it someday.

Yeah, I'm not trying too hard to sell it. It's only posted on here for now. If it sells, cool, if not, cool too. Thanks for the tip.

I showed this to a buddy of mine, a N/A crossfire owner. He would love to pick this up...if his current crossfire met an untimely demise haha. Which he isn't looking to happen on purpose at all. Then again, he doesn't drive his crossfire very much at all since he is a Texas Auto Writer and reviews a new car every week...

Good luck with your sale...

Hi, well done for appearance mods!

question on Koni adjustable shocks: why are they called adjustable, i.e. do they make the ride softer/harder depending on driver's preference? If yes, how easy is to make the adjustment. Thanks!

The Koni shocks are adjustable for compression dampening. There is a **** tool you put on the top of the shock tower and turn to soften or stiffen the ride. All you have to do is open the hood for the fronts. The rears are accessed by removing the interior panels in the trunk which is very easy. You pop out a few plastic buttons. You can cut a hole in the panels to access the top of the shocks. I didn't want to cut holes in the panels since they are so easy to remove. When on full hard, the car handles like a race car. When on full soft, it rides like a Caddy. It's set up about 1 1/2 turns from full soft.

Thanks,
Dan

Thanks, it's pretty hard core. There is nothing on the bike that doesn't make it lighter or faster. There are no gauges, is no battery, no turn signals, etc.

I can't stand the modern, OCC-type, sparkling Easter egg billet bikes that have become popular these days. Other bikers are starting to feel the same way. Bobbers are becoming popular again, so parts and frames that help create them are abundant.

The Trump has a David Bird frame, a rear 16" HD rim laced with stainless steel spokes to a Triumph hub, the font is an 18" Triumph rim and hub re-laced with SS spokes, the fork is Triumph lowered 2", a Boyer electronic ignition with a Boyer Power box, 7 plate clutch, etc, etc.

So, if you want to build a bobber, just junk the soft tail, get a weld on hardtail or a full frame, start chucking parts you don't need to make it run, and stay away from billet parts, skulls, and other crap.

did you say 17.5? no mods to the motor? I have to buy that car just to get the wheels. I love those wheels....it's been a toss-up between yours and mrphotoman's wheels....1 or the other soon...anyway. Is that your price?....My jeep goes off lease in about 6 months...so I would have to carry it for awhile longer...decisions....
