Default The Club Joins SEMA

January 23, 2010, -C-I-C-C-I JOINS SEMA

With our long term focus on keeping Crossfire replacement parts available and keeping an attentive eye on the automotive aftermarket industry. The Board of Directors has decided it to be in the best interest for -C-I-C-C-I to join the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) as a supporting member. In addition to this the Board has decided to appoint [ichon] to the "Automotive Restoration Market Association". Since the long term purpose of this action is to maintain the Crossfire, the participation of the club as a council affiliate in this area can only help the long term interests of all Crossfire owner enthusiasts.

As we move beyond the decade of the Crossfire's birth, the Board of Directors looks forward to actively representing the legacy of the Crossfire to the numerous aftermarket manufacurers and suppliers already participating with SEMA.

Does this mean that C-I-C-C-I members can all now get into the annual SEMA show?
(For those that don't know, It's not actually open to the general public.)

If there are members who would like to attend (and the BoD knows in advance) I am sure something can be arranged through preregistration.

I would love the opportunity to attend. When is the next show? Would probably fly rather than drive due to distance.

FYI, The show is usually the last week in Oct or the first week of November. It's set for October 30 - November 2, 2012

That is a nice thing to know, lucky guy, you get to always see all the new goodies before everyone else. I am a CICCI member, and would really like to go. Depends on money, would like to take XF, but may have to fly due to time.

It's only 1650 miles from Houston to Las Vegas...........I've done the trip 4 times. It takes 24 hours(10 driving, 4 sleeping in hotel and 10 more to finish the trip) one way.

A lot further for me....If I could ever get 2 consecutive weeks off from work, then I'd attempt the drive myself. Now that would be some fun indeed.

Meetup in Vegas during SEMA! Can't think of a better time! If you book through the SEMA housing block you can get some really cheap rooms. I think statosphere starts at $35 a night or something.

Do you have contact names for rooms at SEMA, so I could look at what rooms to get?

I've done that ride as well(but from Vero Beach) when I was 5 and in a Uhaul. It took my parents 3 days to make the trek with very little sleep and switching off at the wheel.
