At the top of this page or any thread page go to "thread tools" in the header, in the pull down you click "subscribe" also verify that you have it set up that you want to receive emails, not PMs, when there is a new post. You will get most of the thread posts, not all, sent as an email.
Providing you have one you check frequently it works well.

Mr. Max,

Every effort will be taken to protect members privacy.

Right now, the intent is to place the CICCI membersforum under a "https" security protocol.

And to all following our progress,

The scheduled update will be posted shortly.

Regards,
Ray

Thanks for your work, It isn't a life or death matter. It's really more of a nuisance thing, but it sounds like you're on top of it and who knows what the scammers will think of next.

UPDATE:
  • Membership Levels:
    • Charter Member – Resolution to have a Charter Membership Drive. Charter members will receive a charter member certificate, charter membership card, dash plaque, window decal, and hat. Charter Members will be accepted from November 1st until January 31st, 2009. Charter members will have voting rights.
    • Regular Member – Resolution to accept regular members starting February 1st 2009. Regular members will receive membership certificate, membership card, and window decal. Regular members will have voting rights.
    • Enthusiast – This level will serve to create a registry of vehicles and be offered at no cost. Enthusiasts will not have voting rights or access to member forum. ENROLLMENT FOR THIS LEVEL WILL BEGIN MARCH 1ST, 2009.
    Fees and dues:
    • Charter Member - $100 Enrollment, $25.00 Renewal due January of the next calendar year and every year thereafter (Dues Start January 2010).
    • Regular Member - $35 Enrollment, $25.00 Renewal due January of the next calendar year and every year thereafter.
    • Enthusiast – entry into the registry only at no charge.
Membership numbers: the most effective way to do this is to use the last 6 of the VIN followed by a dash and the join date. ie. 654321-0081210; where 654321 = VIN, 008 = Year, 12 = day, 10 = Month.
  • CICCI Forum: IP.Board, it’s cost is $150.00 and we get a free install at that price. GoDaddy servers are compatible with this tool. Members who pay dues (and stay current) will have access; and once it is established, we can use the CICCI Forum for voting, membership announcements and news. Whatch this thread for word of its starting up.
  • Expenses: Personal expenses involved in getting things up and running should be monitored closely and conveyed to the founding board.
  • Other clubs and local organizations: CICCI will not compete with these organizations; we will encourage their efforts and try to gain membership through co-sponsorship of local events. This organization will be a tool and means to ground their efforts on a local level.
  • Founding Member Certificates in process.
  • Tax Identification number received. Bank Accounts discussion will be held during the next board meeting.
Everyone, your patients is greatly appreciated. We are nearing a point were this organization will begin to accept new members, but a lasting infrastructure must be in place first.

Next Scheduled update will be 10/31/2008.

How were the membership fees/dues derived and how will they be used once personal expenses have been reimbursed?

VALK,

BESIDES THE OBVIOUS DIFFERENCES IN THE MEMBERSHIP PACKET. CHARTER MEMBERS WILL GET SPECIAL RECOGNITION AS CLUB SUPPORTERS. THIS LEVEL IS DESIGNED FOR PEOPLE WHO WANT TO SHOW THEIR SUPPORT IN A MORE ENTHUSIASTIC MANNER.

BILL,

FUNDS WILL BE USED TO SPONSOR AND CO-SPONSOR LOCAL EVENTS AND OTHER FUNCTIONS BROUGHT BEFORE THE BOARD BY THE MEMBERSHIP. EXAMPLE: SAY A GROUP OF MEMBERS WISH TO RENT A NASCAR TRACK FOR A WEEKDAY AND HAVE A CLUB FUNCTION; THIS WOULD BE WITHIN THE SCOPE OF POSSIBILITIES WITH THIS ORGANIZATION ACTING ON BEHALF OF THE CLUB MEMBERS. A ROADTRACK LIKE WATKINS GLEN, FOR EXAMPLE, IS $8,000.00 PER DAY PLUS INCIDENTALS LIKE TOWING AND SPEEDY DRY, ETC.. THE CLUB/WILL CAN ACT TO HELP DEFRAY THE COSTS OF SUCH FUNCTIONS. THERE ARE OTHER POSSIBILITIES AS WELL.

FEES AND DUES WERE ARRIVED AT BY: 1) LOOKING AT OTHER SIMILAR ORGANIZATIONS, 2) PREDETERMINING WHAT THE COST OF MEMBERSHIP PACKAGES MAY BE, AND 3) WHAT WE BELIEVE IS FAIR AND WITHIN REASON.

THE PERSONAL EXPENDITURES NOTE IS TO REINFORCE TO THE BOARD WE WISH TO KEEP EXPENDITURES LOW AND REASONABLE TO GET THINGS MOVING. WE WOULD RATHER USE FUNDS FOR OUR SOCIAL FUNCTIONS RATHER THAN ADMINISTRATIVE PURPOSES.

Count me in for a Charter Membership!

Keep the updates coming and please give us more ideas as to where the club is heading and preferably a comprehensive list of the Club's goals, objectives and benefits when possible.

Guys, Ray is correct. It's going to take a little influx of funding to get us going, including Web hosting fees and start up cost. The Regular membership fee is very reasonable, but we can definitely use more to get us started.
The charter member membership is completely voluntary for those of us that are willing to donate more for the start-up. The hat is just a recognition and token of appreciation.

I hope to see many of you join. Like Montana said; there's strength in numbers. The more members we have the stronger we will be viewed.

For other Clubs. "This organization will be a tool and means to ground their efforts on a local level." What is meant by that if a local Crossfire Club has no affiliation with CICCI other than some members are members of CICCI also?

BILL,

YOU HAVE A DISCERNING EYE.

IN SHORT: WE WISH TO PARTICIPATE IN ALL THINGS CROSSFIRE... IF WE TEAM UP WITH ANOTHER GROUP, SAY CROSSFIRES OF NEW ENGLAND FOR EXAMPLE, THE INTENTION WOULD BE TO PARTICIPATE AND GAIN MEMBERSHIP AND PROMOTE OUR ORGANIZATION.

THIS WILL NOT BE DONE IN A DISORGANIZED OR UNPLANNED MANNER; EXPENDITURE VS. REWARD WILL ALWAYS BE CAREFULLY CONSIDERED.

Count me in as a Charter member too please..

I would like to volunteer as the club debt collector too. If someone is late in payment I can put the squeeze on. Oh I'm sorry this is the Crossfire club not Mafia right?? That was a different site.

Seriously though count me in as a Charter member and please let me know if there is anything at all I can do. I'm right in the middle of NY/NJ-- tri-state area if that helps with anything.

Looking forward to things to come-
