I found this list as of last August, 2007. I have to wonder how many of these members are still active, so I would like to start with a row call. Please vote on the poll to what applies to you. And if possible send me a PM with an e-mail address or Cell number if we can contact you. Later on we will post a poll on nominating officers to run the club as we work out some structure. I don't think one person running the club is prudent. The intent is not to introduce bureaucracy at all, just a little structure. WE will crawl before we walk here.

Here is my oppinion take it for what it is worth.. since I joined the Crossfire Forum.. in Mid 2006 I have been a very active member and crossfire lover constantly giving and receiving feedback/advice on modifications, methods of handling the vehicle and other things.. but I have never joined the XFi because from the start I did not see it as a crossfire club, but more of a sticker vendor that adds your name to a meaningless list of people before you that have purchased those same stickers... I guess that is alright... in some sense..

I think that this club needs a major overhaul and new people need to be appointed into control.. those that pop into my mind are FP, Valk, and SilverFox for obvious reasons and I think few would disagree with me here.. My Suggestions are like this.. deleate this useless list as many of those owners havent owned a crossfire in years and many others don't participate in the forum or anywhere for that matter.. Start another list with a higher enterance admission and organize a bigger package of enterance admission items than just simply stickers, organize large-scale meets such as Fox's Spring Dragon.. Create Roll calls where members have to sign in at least once in a while.. limit it to United States owners only and change the name to something else like XFN (Crossfire National)... work for manufacturer discounts that are avaliable only to the XFi members and just general crossfire forum members as this will create a benefit to being in XFi and will interest people to join..

That is my 2 cents, take it for what it is worth, but realize that till something is done.. this part of the forum will remain dead...

 

FP has some big ideas that align with your thoughts here exactly.
He and I spoke in detail yesterday and he has some good ideas and will create a conference bridge phone call for members interested in discussion on this topic.We want member input going forward as the direction of this group is not any one persons decision. Keep up with the posts as things are going to be changing I would assume. Thanks for you comments and we will want your input on the conference call most likely sometime in Early May after the poll results are in and the poll closes. Gary

 

Sidez has some good ideas. I'm sure that FP and Valk, etc. do also.
Sidez is right, a club is not a sticker.
We will need a registry, an active widespread member base, etc.
A true Crossfire Club site may need to be stand alone, and not part of another forum - not sure though.
The $10 for life thing is probably going to have to go as well.
I'll be glad to help out and discuss with others.

I think you guys will all be on board. I echo your points. Anyone can buy stickers. That is why having a true count of members is so important. We need a clean DB. Every effort will be made to find all active members, but if we do not hear from them by the deadline, we will assume they are inactive and will lose their membership.
I'm not trying to be a hard ***, but if we don't do it this way, we will never have a real car club.

Thanks for the support. I've gotten some PMs with the same level of support and ideas from other members.

Keep voting, and if you know of a member who is still interested but has given up or just not logging in anymore, please let them know.

I would be happy to pay an anual membership fee in this effort. (With which I'd like a set of the new smaller decals too.)

It is also the best way to keep track of those that sell their car and no longer want to continue.

 

If ten bucks is all you need count me in #25 just change my car and sig, SRT6 Dan thanks. Keep up the great work.

 

I cannot guarantee it will be $10 going forward. You are currently a member. We will have to change your handle.

 

If I can interject something here. The 10$ membership was the original fee that JD came up with to cover his costs for the sticker/mailing costs. Don't ask me how he arrived at 10 bucks that was the number. With your XFI membership you also got special access to the XFI forum within this forum. Don't get too hung up on the fee. Lets just try and take this from a forum to a club. I think that was JD's intention before he suddenly left last July. We have a great Forum here, nice people and I think all we need worry about is taking this to the next level.
I do want to throw something out there. Last year at Carlisle JD contacted someone, well before hand and got us a tent. If you have ever been to Carlisle you know how welcome a little shade is. You either get the tent based on participation or you have to pay for it. Someone needs to run this down for this year. As I recall JD spoke directly to someone at Chrysler.
Andrew may or may not know something about this.
I have no problem getting involved in this but I don't want to duplicate what someone might be doing. Turn me loose!

Valk/FP/Dave thanks for putting attention to this for us. Count us in, Valk knows the details. If there is any help I can provide let me know. I excel at sitting, thinking and drinking! Really I would help out if needed. If the cost goes up we would still be members. I voted as well.

We can use your help if you really mean it. I took a print out of the most current list of members and was going through the task of matching it against the 'Member List' and see when was the last time they logged in, but it is very tedious. If we share this among several of us, we can cut down on the time. I've put it on a spread sheet that I can send to any volunteers. I've asked Mightyjlr if he could add a field to that list so we can sort by that field and see all of them at one time, but have not heard back from him. So I don't know if it's possible.

 

I would love to join, as you know, I have been posting more now than when I first started. I would also be willing to do whatever I can to move it along and help in any way I can. I have some tech knowledge as well as a working knowledge of photography. If it's only 10 bucks, let me know where to send it.
