I;ve been following the efforts everyone involved has done. Things take time and since we haven't had it for a while a little more time won't hurt.

Pardon me while I post my thoughts about all of this and all of us. Folks that are tied by one bond. Our wonderful cars.
I agree in principle to your statement, however, the season is upon us and we're burning summer. I'm willing to wait because I know this venture can and will work. That being said, it's really tough to have everyone involved be involved, if that makes sense. There appears to be many people willing and able to do various duties involved in such a venture.
As for the Chrysler connection, with the departure of MB and the sales debacle that the Crossfire was, I would think that Chrysler execs would like to turn away. The majority of folks that frequent this site appear to be enthusiasts. Which is a good thing, a very good thing. The passion and dedication that a true enthsiast has is unrelenting. This is what we need, this is what we yearn for. Last week, my father in law passed away, with him went his joy for life, his reason for living. The only reason I mention this is this: Life is short, as you well know. Reach for all the gusto you can, live as best you can and don't sweat the small stuff, it has a way of working out. Drive your car like you stole it!!! Live life like it will end tomorrow.
Don't forget your "Bucket List" Live it to the fullest and that means having a club with members that respects each other and that helps whomever with whatever.

Things that NEED to happen:

We need officers, 3 was the number everyone on the call seemed to like. I think it needs to be taken further and that there is once person per region/state as an officer and then we have 3 that would be treasurer, VP and president. Reason for this, I'm thinking that FP will probably hold one of those 3 spots but I hardly see him as wanting to be organizing things for the chapters in NJ. Let NJ people do that.

This being said I would vote to have this club be run by someone with experience in running an auto club. I care way too much about this to try and run this club. I have no experience running an auto club. I just wanted to get it off the ground. If this is moving too slow given the situation, I would gladly turn this effort to someone else. This is not about me. It's about the XFi club. No sore feeling here. I would have not put myself in a nominated position. Like I said I care too much for the club. I am happy to help out in any way I can which has been my intent all along.

Cheers

FP, I think that perhaps you may have misunderstood my intentions. What I was attempting to do was rally support for this club and our cars. It wasn't intended to be a personal attack on you or anyone else. A fact was stated, in a way that I think , in hindsight, may have been taken as rash and rude. That being the "burning summer" line. You see, I'm a cowboy and the term burning daylight is one which is used often for obvious reasons. I too care about this club and the cars we all love. When the notion that the club was going to really be a club, I was all for it and even said that I'd help as much as I could. Yes, I have some experience with running a club but not the scope of what this can be. Remember, I'm an old guy, quick on the draw but old. The same things you want for this club are my own desires for it too. We are on the same page.
It takes a lot of guts to even attempt to do this, I certainy don't want to run it or ruin it. I just want to see it happen. Take this as an apology and stay doing what you are doing.

Rick, no apologies needed. I didn't take it the wrong way. I am being honest. I've been vocal about the XFi club for some time now. I want it to be a real car club. I've never done it and if you noticed some of my posts, I've asked if anyone has any experience. The last thing I want to do is a disservice to the club and the members. I was not offended in any way. I have pretty thick skin . So please don't feel bad. I wasn't aiming at you. I just thought that maybe I should make things clear to everyone. I don't have a big ego, and just want the best for XFi. I want to help get it off the ground, but am not looking to run it.

Thanks for the apology anyway, but not necessary.

FP, you're a class act. I 'm happy that I didn't offend you and I know we both want the same thing for this club. As I said, I'm willing to do what I can to help get it going.

For what it's worth: Altough I missed the conference call, I believe we're heading in the right direction. I have headed-up local meets here in the Northeast for the Ridgeline Owners Club for the past several years. This year I am helping in bring together a National Meet in Ohio with over a hundred vehicles and 200 people. I understand and appreiciate all the efforts people are pulling together to get this up and running in an organized manner. I would ask all that are involved to please try and understand the logistics of such an undertaking. My hat is off to everyone involed and I "Thank You" all.

FP and VALKRYDERGUY I offer any assistance that I can. I run a small manufacturung business and sometimes my time is limited, but I'm always willing to help. I have gathered and supplied decals, banners, t-shirts, give-a ways and the such to the Ridgeline Club and would be willing to do the same for you. I know we are not at this point in time for development, but please feel free to call on me and my wife. We are both designers with over 25 years experience each and are willing to bring anything we have to the table. I know there has been some discusion of a new logo. Personnally, I think it could use a little help and also feel that it's "a little difficult to recognize". I don't think it needs a complete overhaul but maybe some changes in the proportions. Don't mean to get off the subject, Anyway . . .

My Wife (Sterling) and I both have Crossfires as many of you know. We love these cars and want to see a club where we can all meet and enjoy; and we don't plan on getting rid of them anytime soon! We offer our input, ideas and/or help if we can. Whether it be on a local, regional or national level.

Again, THANKS!! and keep up the efforts, it will all work out in due time.

Tbird, thanks for your words of encouragement. We will need everyone's contributions to make this work. Thanks for the offer, I'm sure we'll take you up on it.

xfire2005, I think it's a great idea for us to make time in our gatherings to discuss the club. Woodward, Carlisle, Dragon, and any other meets should be used as much as possible. There's nothing like meeting face to face to have a productive discussion.

Last year at Carlisle, JD who ran XFI at the time, had everyone get together under the tent, introduce ourselves and then he gave a his vision of what he wanted the club to become, he left almost the next day. No mention he was leaving and as everyone knows the banner was passed to Sennspirit. Senna said nothing to me at all before the event (and we hung out at cruise ins on the weekends prior to Carlisle) and he disappeared soon after Carlisle himself. If we are going to have a pow wow at Carlisle or anywhere else for that matter lets make sure its announced prior to the event so everyone will know the time and place.
Last years session seemed to be put together at the last minute and a lot of folks were wandering around the event. For those that can't make the events it would be nice to have some "minutes" published of what was discussed. Doesn't have to be word for word but lets keep everyone here in the loop. One of my main complaints about XFI was it seemed like some secret organization. I know me and a lot of others have applied for membership more than once and it went nowhere. I think we all know why that happened. If this club is to be a success that can not happen again. It ain't the CIA right? Actually Crossfire International Assoc., I guess it could be the CIA.

Pat,

Well Said . . . Well Said !!!

Last year was our first visit to Carlisle's and that is how we felt. We where not aware of the discussion that was taking place when we return from a short walk around the show. We definately had the feeling that we where on the outside of something that did not concern us, and frankly, we where taken back by it. I don't believe that anyone here intended that to happen, or that it was done with a purpose, it's just how it played out.

Don't get me wrong. Grace and I both enjoyed ourselves. We talked with Redcross, Andrew, Tony and many others. Everyone made us feel very welcome, but there was a background "buzz" that made you feel like something else was going on that you where not suppose to know about. This of course, turned out to be JD leaving and Senna trying to take over, but these things will happen from time to time and we understand that.

Anyway, I agree with Pat. If there is to be a open discussion about the club, please set a time and place so all involved can be present and peoples opinions, ideas, concerns, etc. can be addressed. Thanks, Andrew

PS. If we need a 'New' banner. My company can make one up and donate it to the club. No problem.

I am glad to see a little more interest in our 2008 Carlisle gathering.

I hope to make this years meet a little more organized and a better experience for all attending.

I am in the process of coming up with some plans and will put them out for opinions in the "Carlisle 2008" thread https://www.crossfireforum.org/forum...=16742&page=24 in the near future. I do intend to have a Crossfire International meeting at Carlisle to see if we can move the club forward in it's re-formation.

Stay tuned!!!

T-Bird, thank you for your generous offer and yes, we would love to take you up on your generous offer. Feel free to PM me so we can discuss.

I agree with Pat as well. Frank, since you are organizing Carlisle, and you set aside and publish a time slot for the XFI discussion? These are all great ideas, and lets ask everyone to write their ideas down so they don't forget and bring them to the meeting.

T-Bird you "nailed it" that's exactly the feeling I'm talking about. Another small "issue". We were asked to register for Carlisle as XFI. I'm not XFI and I didn't see that request before I registered. I registered as I am, a member of Crossfire Forum.Org.

Do those of us on the phone call have access to the thread that was setup after the call? I have not been notified that I have access and have lost the thread. I tried numerous times to log in and was always denied and was told I would be notified when I had been given access.
