Does anyone have pics of flip out lcd units in crossfire?
Does anyone have pics of flip out lcd units in crossfire?
I'm specifically looking for the pics of the pioneer p7500dvd or p6500dvd or any of the kenwood models w/ silver trim (kvt-m700, kvt-911dvd, etc) installed in a crossfire.
I prefer the p7500dvd based on functionality, but the kvt-m700 would obviously match the best. The downside on the m700 is that it has no way of doing time alignment which I think is a huge feature. However, if the m700 looked 10 X better than the p7500dvd installed I'd probably go that route.
the p7500dvd only lights up in blue, which is another minus in the looks department when trying to match up with the green crossfire scheme.
Any help would be appreciated. When I do finally get a stereo I will be sure to share with all. Also, I'm not looking at the avic-n1 or n2s because I prefer the p7500dvd over them in all ways. Although those are great all in one units.
Thanks all.

Re: Does anyone have pics of flip out lcd units in crossfire?
I just put a kvt-m700 and I LOVE IT. It looks factory I'll get some pics this weekend for you. Best part is that you can find them on Ebay for cheap. for the kvt-m700/brain/all wires and remote and a Kenwood 6 disk CD changer I paid $400!!!! All I need now is to get the DV4100 with voice module and I'm all set. I also have an Xbox in the car now for movies and games.
Edit: Almost forgot, the m700 lights up in GREEN!!! Its so awesome, it definitely looks factory. Even the LCD has two different green backgrounds. A solid green which matches perfect and a green with black grid which also matches. You can decide on 5 different colors but obviously the green is the best for the screen and the buttons.
Hope this helps.

Re: Does anyone have pics of flip out lcd units in crossfire?
It helps and hurts. I love the look of the m700, but I was really set on doing a 5.1 setup w/ time alignment and that is the one unit that isn't capable. The other kenwood's can do it through the use of another module. The p7500dvd is capable out of the box.
So the question is do I go with looks or performance...I'm leaning towards performance but your pics may swing me the other direction.

I have never had 5.1 in a car, but time alignment to me makes a big difference. You can only do so much with a balance adjustment.
The 5.1 system would be relatively easy to do in the crossfire because it has easy placement for 4 of the 5 speakers. The center speaker might be a hassle, so if I go with 5.1 I may just forgo the center speaker and use the built in processor to image a phantom center speaker from the front speakers.

I saw your photos and it looks great. Personally, I would prefer something with a silver trim if possible, i.e. the m700, or even the p7500dvd which is more grayish.
As for the speakers, I'm not sure which brand I'll use, but a 6.5 component up front with a matching brand 6.5 2-way coaxial in the rear coupled with a basslink II or something of the sort (for space reasons) for the sub should achieve what I want. Depending on how that sounds in dolby pro-logic II I may end up putting in a center speaker like Pioneer offers somewhere high on the dash.
I've read through all the posts in this section and there are not a lot of installs outside of head units. I'm hoping to draw out those who have for some ideas.
