Unhappy passenger speakers no sound except buzzing

okay i had a problem a few weeks ago. was on a roadtrip and suddenly heard several loud bumps on the driver side door- almost sounded like something hitting the door. finally figured out it was an electrical popping in the speakers. I turned off the stereo and turned it back on an voila- problem gone. fast forawrd to last week. another road trip. got almost where i was going and the sound from the passenger side speakers just stopped.
right now here are the issues:
no radio or cd sound from any of the right side speakers
when you turn the car on you can hear motor noise buzzing from the right speakers
the buzzing in the right speakers occurs whether you have the stereo turned on or not
occasionally while listening to my one sided stereo i will here popping noises from the passenger side

from what i have read in some other posts on here it sounds like it could possibly be a bad amp

any advice will be appreciated!!

Hi -
What did you find out? I have exactly the same problem, and am looking into buying a new amp, but I haven't had the actual solution confirmed yet. The independent stereo stores just want to sell me a whole new system, and the manufacturer of the Infinity hasn't responded to my inquiry.
Thanks
OJ

sooooo...More than likely it IS a bad amplifier..but it could also be something wrong with the deck, or even one of the speakers could have blown and seized up and be grounding out the entire system...The bad thing is very few stereo shops actually do what's in the best interests of the customer, let alone if they even have an employee thats even qualified to work on and trouble shoot electrical systems. Just because they sell and "drop" new headunits into someone's dash doesn't mean squat if they can't pin point issues with a stereo system... So my recommendation is....start with the easiest accessible item and trouble shoot from there. If either of you wants to keep your car "stock" I have everything out of mine (all speakers, tweeters, deck, amp, subs, little children, spare tire..lol)that you can have relatively in-expensively or if you want to replace your stereo with an aftermarket one on your own I'll cut you a screaming deal on a new one!..message me or visit my website and drop me a call

okay. funniest thing. found a preowned amp and put it in. no difference. checked all the fuses- not the problem. was getting ready to order some mercedes stereo keys to pull the head unit and see if there were any inline fuses behind the dash- but then............
i think my deceased wife is haunting my car. lol i was in the drive through at mcdonalds and the right speakers popped and then about 5 seconds of static. i said out loud- i hear you babe- just please quit f-ing with my car and fix it cuz ya know i cant afford to take it to the dealer.
exactly one minute later the speakers turned on and havent had a problem since. its been 3 weeks.

who knows what it was but its working fine now

now its the driver side window that is occasionally not rolling down- at least shes leavin my tunes alone lol

I put in an alpine stereo over 2 years ago and have not had any problems until this week. The drivers door speaker has no sound except for a buzzing. This has happened the last two times I drove xf, but after it warms up( if this makes sense). It starts working again. I never changed the amp hook ups. But I don't think this would make any difference except for more bass. I just don't know if I should look at replacing amp or speaker or what?!?!? I hate to just keep throwing parts at the problem. Anyone got suggestion? Please help! The buzzing has to stop!
