It's not that I like the music, I'm just too cheap to buy anything else.
I never play it anyway. I just like the 'option' that I could play it one day.
Re: iPod Control with Factory Nav Radio is Here!
Hey Ruddy, I just made the payment. Hope you will get enough people soon.
Come on people, it's not some cheap plastic box made in China. This device is very well build, in a nice metal case. Everything is done very professionally. I know because I've seen one, and I am Electronics Engineer as well.
Only a few spots left.
And it's not just iPod adapter, it's a USB Adapter as well. I don't even have iPod, I'm ordering it for USB drive.
The best part is that if you decide to get rid of it, you can easily find a buyer on this form for the same price. Follow Rudy's link to PayPal now!

Again, you are limited to 99 songs per folder.
After naming the folders in the Flash Drive (CD1, CD2, etc).... thereafter, just just plug the Flash Drive in the USB port and it will play the music in each folder automatically?
Will plugging in an MP3 player will have the same results?
I saw the IPod pic on the 1st page..... is there a stand alone pic showing where, or how the USB outlet might be located?
Re: iPod Control with Factory Nav Radio is Here!
I'm stoked about having ordered this upgrade for my new NAV radio! Even more so to know that there may be a USB Flash Drive connection! I had no idea about that. Too, Rudy told me the other day, "It has both an iPod connector and a 3.5mm headphone jack so you can connect either device concurrently. Priority will be given to the iPod but when you do not have one connected, you can use the headphone jack for your scanner."'
What an awesome design. I don't know how long the cables are going to be but I'm sure that they can be made to reach back to the console storage area. I believe that Rudy's setup facilitates charging of the iphone/ipod. If it does then its just a "holder" for the phone that I need to figure out. I tried one of those "goose neck" devices that plug into the 12V lighter and - while convenient, I don't think the dashboard or the lighter is quite solid enough to hold the iphone over time. That part of the dash assembly seems to be very flimsy and almost ready to break. I'm really reluctant to use the lighter/gooseneck holder.
Does anyone have any alternative ideas for mounting the iphone?
Meanwhile, Rudy and Accelerated Industries seem to be exceeding all of my expectations. What a treat to deal with! Now that I have my audio needs taken care of, can we all gang up on him at once and get Rudy to come up with a superior Backup Camera/Display design for the Crossfire.

I actually ordered mine for USB drive as well. I hope I could use my smart phone instead, since it's emulates a removable USB device, but if not, then I will have to use the Flash Drives.

1. Plugs into a USB port just like a flash drive....plays music thru computer speakers.
2. Has an extension to plug into the MP3 and USB port. This charges the MP3.
The Micro SD Card will not play music thru the computer speakers, only head buds, or thru my Creative Travel Sound speakers which runs on batteries.
Will play MP3 music thru the computer speakers that has been added into the Internal Memory Folder(s).
Not sure if #2, or any part of it will play with this adapter system.
Interested in this adapter, just need a little more info before deciding one way or another.

1. is an MP3 Player for a standard USB flash drive that can be controlled from factory NAV CD/Radio player, and
2. is an adapter to control iPod from factory NAV CD/Radio player.
You said you have 2 other MP3 players. You don't need (nor you can) to control an MP3 player with another MP3 player. If any of your MP3 players are acting like a standard removable drive while connected to a regular computer, then most-likely it will work with this device, but it would be used like a regular flash drive with some limitations of the NAV unit (such as the ability to address only 6 folders which are pretending to be CD's, and maximum 99 files inside, which is the number of tracks allowed per single Audio CD.
That means forget about any buttons or controls on your MP3 player. They will not be utilized. You may as well go and buy a flash driver for a few bucks instead of using an MP3 player like a drive.
The second part of the device - iPod controller is an exception. It is designed to be connected to iPod (and compatible devices) only. Since your MP3 players are not iPod then it has nothing to do with you.
The only exception would be if the device Rudy builds would have a pass-trough audio input, then you could connect whatever you want to it and use all the buttons on your own device to navigate and select the music, but as far as I know this iPod controller doesn't have the audio input.
Am I correct, Rudy?
Re: iPod Control with Factory Nav Radio is Here!
First I want to apologize for not hitting this thread for a while. I must have missed that there were new posts and I have had SO much going on lately with people getting their cars out of storage and V8 conversions. If anyone has any questions, please feel free to email me at rudy@acceleratedindustries.com. It's easier for me to get those than PMs.
Due to the way it handles the file structure, I do not think it will work with a USB connected MP3 player. It does have a 3.5mm headphone jack that you can connect any audio device to it through that and control it as if you were using it with headphones.
You can purchase the unit via PayPal HERE. Let me know if you have any other questions.
You can use an iPod/iPhone, USB flash drive or any device that connects to a 3.5mm headphone jack.
No, it will only play MP3s.
