Default Avh-p5000dvd

I'm deciding this weekend wether to have a Pioneer AVH-5000DVD installed.
I have a manual transmission and it appears that the unit and the screen won't interfere with shifting. I will never use it to play a DVD but want to use it for the touchpanel control. I will be adding the XM module, the Ipod [I actually have an Iphone] interface and I'm considering the Bluetooth adaptor. The installer will be painting the bezel to match the silver dash.

It all sounds cool but I was curious if anyone had any experence with a like system. Any pitfalls or problems to look out for?

Pics would help my confidance greatly.

I don't have the fancy DVD but I installed the DEH5000 and found it to connect to the boys iPhone and control very easily. And the Pioneer sounds SO much better due to its extended equilizer controls.

I have a slightly different unit but do have the XM and interface, and use Bluetooth phone.

The modules all fit in the floor with the factory power amp; the head unit was plug and play with the correct harness plug wired to the back of the head unit; the sound is great.

I opted not to get the one with the flip out face because it blocks the controls above the head unit and I wanted something minimal.

You may want to make sure you really need the bluetooth module or not. The unit may have it built in already. If not, it's extremely easy to add later.
