Factory Alarm Chirp! Solved! Read!!!
Factory Alarm Chirp! Solved! Read!!!
This topic is being discussed in many different threads, so I decided to post a new one with an eye catching title. ANyway, after hearing that people were gaining the alarm chirp after having their siren replaced under warranty, I decided to purchase the part thay said was being put in, Chrysler Part# 5124443AA. I replaced my siren today, and YES! I NOW HAVE CHIRP! When I are the alarm, it chirps 3 times (2 if a door is ajar) and chirps once when unlocked. I will say it again, I HAVE CHIRP. All that is needed is to replace your siren with the new one. I took pictures of the 2 so you can see the difference. The new one is the one that says BOSCH on it, and the old one does not. The new one is also louder than my old one. It took me 30 minutes to replace the siren (which is mounted under the cowl by the way, you will need a set of security torx bits, the ones with a hole in the middle) but I'm used to taking cars apart. So...
IF YOU WANT YOUR CAR TO CHIRP, REPLACE YOUR SIREN WITH PART#5124443AA.
Again, IF YOU WANT YOUR CAR TO CHIRP, REPLACE YOUR SIREN WITH PART#5124443AA.
No-need for non-factory add-ons.

Thank goodness it only takes a year for someone else to finally do this!

Here is confirmation #2. Just got back from picking up my 2005 Crossfire from Huffines Chrysler in Plano, TX. I had a few things repaired under warranty...flaking paint on console and my alarm siren had begun to make the above referenced "cricket on crack" sound. My alarm had worked in the past, and never beeped or chirped when armed or disarmed. I get my car back today and I now have 3 very soft beeps when armed and 1 soft beep when disarmed. Very Cool...I cannot give the tech's name that worked on my car because I do not know it, but someone at Huffines Chrysler 972-867-6000 knows how to make it work. I do see on my service order that the alarm siren 1028006, FP number 5124443-AA was replaced. I do not know if those numbers will help, but I can confirm that my factory alarm now beeps/chirps when armed and disarmed.
Good Luck All with getting yours to work too!!!

the flash and no beep. I hope the service center doesn't try to install a
beeping alarm should I need a replacement, as well.

The lights flashing are good enough for me and should I not be able to find my car in a parking lot - I use the panic feature and the Crossfire's Siren is pretty unique.

The little Radio Shack buzzer being discussed at https://www.crossfireforum.org/forum...281#post216281 is actually very quiet - I just installed it in my car a few minutes ago. $3.78 tax included. Stupid simple installation, too.

Yeah, sorry for postint this in a lot of places, I just figured that since EVERYBODY wanted this, this would be the best way to get everyones attention. I noticed that they do both say Bosch on them, I didn't notice it on the bottom of the old one. I don't have a sound clip, but it is a faint beep that you can hear when near the car. it is the same volume as other Mercedes chirps, but a different tone and slightly (very slightly) longer. Also, it only chirps during the arm or disarm, meaning if you press lock, it chirps 3 times, and if you press lock again, it does not chirp again. Same with unlock. As for the price, Dealers are selling them around $70, but they sell them to body shops around $55, so they can discount if you push them. As for the Radio Shack parts, if it works, great. It's definitly a cheaper alternative. I'm very comfortable modifying cars to my liking, especially with electronics, but at the same time, I want that factory look and feel whenever possible, and for less than $60, I don't ming buying a factory part to get what I want. I even bought the little damper in the glove box since my base didn't came with it.
