Maybe, JUST MAYBE, the guy wants to insure the key actually aligns the tumblers BEFORE sending it back so he doesn't have return issues? If this is the reason, sounds like a good CUSTOMER SERVICE plan to me.

Yes, I got two new fobs from SOS Diagnostics. So glad as only had one fob.

As in my post in this thread a couple months ago, Payless Car Keys is legit, is offering competitive pricing and services. The free market in action. Sending a lock cylinder is necessary if you don't have a metal key blade to copy. Glove box locks often do not have a full set of tumblers.
