Front Wheel Bearings

Re: Front Wheel Bearings
Didn't finish reading/comprehending the entire article due to the annoying pop-ups, but a subtle hint for reassembly, is to keep the new bearings in the freezer until they are to be installed in the hub. This 'shrinks' the bearings allowing them to be a little easier to install. Of course, make sure they are not crooked (as the article mentions). Good luck, and come back to tell us how it worked out!

No point in putting the rolling part in the freezer unless you plan on roller bearing soup for supper in the future.
Re: Front Wheel Bearings
There is a video on YOUtUBE and if I remember correctly, it was done by a forum member. A pretty good presentation all in all.

Re: Front Wheel Bearings
Dang it, of course your 100% correct. The races that mount into the hubs! Thanks for the catch George! It was those damned distracting pop-ups, I'll stick by that 'excuse'! LOL

Re: Front Wheel Bearings
It is both confusing, and annoying. I know it has happened before, sometimes even 'locking' the post as 'not read' yet. Strange...

Re: Front Wheel Bearings
Thanks Folks, exactly what I needed haven't never tackled wheel bearings before! The vid was awesome but he cut out the tapping and swearing that probably went with that. I will be tackling this job this coming weekend when the bearing set gets here. I am the second owner of our roadster and have put a 140k on her and have yet to actually wear out a set of tires $#^%, never trust a redneck garage to align your crossfire or supposedly replace the bearings. Doing the job myself and going to the Chrysler dealer for the alignment. I should have bought stock in GMAX tires.
Hoping that the parts store has a 'loaner' race set kit to use.
Thanks to all again! The Xfire shall LIVE AGAIN
