Didn't finish reading/comprehending the entire article due to the annoying pop-ups, but a subtle hint for reassembly, is to keep the new bearings in the freezer until they are to be installed in the hub. This 'shrinks' the bearings allowing them to be a little easier to install. Of course, make sure they are not crooked (as the article mentions). Good luck, and come back to tell us how it worked out!

George, I think you are talking about the bearing RACES, not the bearings.
No point in putting the rolling part in the freezer unless you plan on roller bearing soup for supper in the future.

There is a video on YOUtUBE and if I remember correctly, it was done by a forum member. A pretty good presentation all in all.

You do not have to go far for a video, go to post number two in this thread and you'll find one. To find both bearings I shall have to do a search on this forum as it came up before.
Thanks to ala_xfire we have this U-Tube video.

Dang it, of course your 100% correct. The races that mount into the hubs! Thanks for the catch George! It was those damned distracting pop-ups, I'll stick by that 'excuse'! LOL

Wait 10 more years like me. You will no longer be bothered by "distracting pop-ups".

I use heat and cold, put the races in the freezer and the hub in the hot sun or the oven, very little effort to seat the races in the hub.
Other thing to know is
How to properly pack a wheel bearing.
And how to adjust the nut for tension on the bearing.

On the other hand, the 'other' pop-ups, aren't that distracting! I suppose it depends on what website/pop-ups you get, huh...

It is both confusing, and annoying. I know it has happened before, sometimes even 'locking' the post as 'not read' yet. Strange...

Thanks Folks, exactly what I needed haven't never tackled wheel bearings before! The vid was awesome but he cut out the tapping and swearing that probably went with that. I will be tackling this job this coming weekend when the bearing set gets here. I am the second owner of our roadster and have put a 140k on her and have yet to actually wear out a set of tires $#^%, never trust a redneck garage to align your crossfire or supposedly replace the bearings. Doing the job myself and going to the Chrysler dealer for the alignment. I should have bought stock in GMAX tires.

Hoping that the parts store has a 'loaner' race set kit to use.

Thanks to all again! The Xfire shall LIVE AGAIN
