Default Trying to get back that new car feel...

Hey guys,

I have just decided to start going down a rabbit hole of trying to get my car back into top running condition and I am looking for maintenance suggestions from those who have gone before me.

This all started when my check engine light came on the other day and I started looking for suggestions on OBD2 scanners on here. Now I am wondering if I need to look into changing plugs, wires, O2 sensors, catalytic converter, PCM, etc. I have never really done any maintenance of any kind on any of my previous cars other than oil changes, but I am wondering with the Crossfire if it would give me any kind of noticeable power increase, gas mileage benefit, prevent issues, etc. My Crossfire is my everyday driver and I have about a 1-hour commute to work everyday. Currently have about 115K miles on it.

Basically, what maintenance items will actually give me a return on my time and money?

Also, my car sometimes shudders and almost stalls at stoplights after getting off of the highway on my way home. Perhaps the aforementioned maintenance items could help with that?

Thanks,
Chris

1. new air filters
2. clean the MAF/IAT sensor
3. change the oil, Mobil1 0w40 and Mann fleece filter
4. change out the brake fluid and install SS brake lines ( RedLine Blue and lines from Rob at NeedsWings )
5. change the differential oil
6. change the power steering fluid - Pentosin CHF 11s
7. replace the fuel filter
8. flush the cooling system - Zerex G05 / distilled water 50/50
9. new plugs and Magnecor wires ( from Rob at NeedsWings )

I did all the above on my 2005 Roadster at about 55,000 miles

I also changed out the top hydraulic fluid, not sure this was necessary ( also Pentosin CHF 11s ).

Probably should look into getting the transmission fluid changed too .......

Yep. This is a good list for any vehicle.

And it sounds eerily familiar...

One more thing, use Armor-All new car scented cleaner on the interior. I often get comments at my car shows about how the car smells new. LOL they can't believe it's over ten years old.

Thank you for your response, very much appreciated!

Would you know a source for a replacement left-hand side front headlamp unit.

It is not importanct as it is only the top fixing strap that was damaged during a collision with a dear.

What would be good is glass lenses to replace the plastic ones!

Alternatively, a way of clearing the plastic lenses for a long period as the products I have tried is a very temporary fix!

Thank you.

To be honest, I take my cars to Sam's Club to get the headlights done. I think it's like $38 (for both headlights which is an awesome deal). They will wet sand the headlights and then, most importantly, apply 3 or so coatings of clear-coat with a UV filter. Then you get a 5 year warranty and from experience they last longer than 5 years and if garage kept would probably last damn near forever.
Best deal I could find for the headlights. Super worth it.

Thank you again for your help! Can't go to Sam's Club as I am situated in the UK!
Best regards,
