Default Crossfire help

My increasingly unreliable Crossfire has now presented a new problem - the car will not start and just makes ticking noises. The dashboard lights are all on. I've tried jumping it and nada - any ideas folks? I'm a total car novice, so please use language a five year old could understand.

Many thanks

Crankshaft positioning sensor. Back of the engine, from drivers side looking down. Use a Bosch, for the replacement.

Not crank positioning sensor if the starter is not engaging.. No starter = RCM.. or battery possibly.. see the red link in my signature..

Thanks so much folks - how do I know if it's the battery, is there any easy test?

Volt meter Pretty sure anything below a 12v reading is not going to engage starter .. jump start.. Pull battery and have tested at parts store... digital readout battery charger..

Yes, static with everything off measure across battery terminals, should be minimum 11.6 volts ( give or take ).
When running, 13.8 to 14.3 volts. ( yes, I know it won't start, but thought I'd tell you anyway )

I agree with mrmiata, probably the RCM.

After rereading, I have to agree with the others(RCM). I assumed (an I know better), that your engine was turning over, and not starting.
(ASSofUanME)well just me.

This car does not jump start unless the batt in the car is 9 cranking volts the best thing to do is replace the batt with at least a 850 cold cranking amp batt, to prove it turn on your headlights ,,,hit the starter,, lights go out you need a batt. lights stay on,,you need starter or sensor. j9im

Dont forget the ground connection to the engine. Try to jump start with the neg jumper cable to the engine instead of the battery.
