Re: V8 Crossfire
Way to go Rudy !!!
I saw a Crossfire in Rudy's garage when I was at his house back in September
He had the V8 engine installed and Rudy started it up while I was there.
It was still work in progress and he was not providing any info as to who's car it was.
I suspect it was yours now.
Glad you got the beast back and like the conversion
Rudy is a local friend of mine and an expert with these V8 conversions.
Rudy seen here with a Supercharged V8 ready for an earlier transplant.
Have a blast with all the new HP

Re: V8 Crossfire
Congrats on the conversion. Reading this thread, reading the article, watching the youtube video, etc. does not help me forget my desire to do this nor cope with the fact I cannot do it right now or maybe never. Wow do I want this lmao. How can you not smile every day with having a Crossfire with this!!! Ofcourse I love my SRT6 but a V8? I will stop rambling now . )
Re: V8 Crossfire
Very good article Jon, your car looks great.
It's a little known fact that the previous owner's of over 400 AMX's have purchased Crossfires. (Probably because the Crossfire and AMX have very similar dimensions, along with performance and handling characteristics).
But what I think is truly amazing, is even though AMC built 52 Super/Stock "Purely race car" AMX's capable of 10sec. 1/4 mile times. Jim Barn's SRT is quicker than nearly all of them.

Re: V8 Crossfire
Yes sir, these are some rare cars and all made possible by Rudy who is by far the best MB mechanic out there. Working with others around the globe to make the XF one of the fastest in it's price range. I can say a V8 is never out of the equation for me, but I first want to run a legal NHRA race in a stock class specifically for the XF. Once that is done, maybe a V8 black roadster to set next to the coupe. Congrats on your build, and a great article.
