Hi Folks, I'm after some help...again. Does anyone know what the part number is for the ignition Barrel on a 2004 manual Crossfire?

Many thanks

If you're looking for the ignition lock housing, this eBay listing Crossfire Ignition Switch Cylinder Lock Housing 04 08 New Original | eBay shows a manufacturer part number of 68001655AA. This looks identical to the one I installed on our '04 Coupe. The Mercedes part number W0133-1607413 for the housing/switch assembly gets you much better prices; the salvage one I installed came on an '02 SLK steering column for $80, including shipping.
If you're looking for the lock cylinder (has the tumblers, key inserts here), this one comes close Ignition Lock Cylinder Febi Fits 1997 2004 Mercedes Benz SLK230 SLK320 SLK32 AMG | eBay and lists part number W0133-1619200.

Hope this helps.

You're quite welcome - I did hours of research for our car acquisition - chronicle here (if you've got an hour to burn :

P.S. - Don't forget to do the sticky key fix before you install any replacement housing!

I bought the ignition housing from Mercedes under part # A 202 460 09 04 (replaced Chrysler # 68001655AA ) almost a third of the Chrysler cost!!

That's right, never ever buy a Chrysler part if possible, always buy the Mercedes part. The Mercedes part number canbe found on most parts unless the part is an over the counter commonly used part.
You will need to match the tumblers on the insert so that it matches your key, otherwise you will need two keys, one for the ignition and one for the drivers door,. You would be in deep trouble if the door did not open using the fob, you would be locked out. Any key part that came with the ignition insert should match the fob attachment, the one shown above does not look like the part at all.

onehundred80,
If you're talking about the stub key part in the ignition lock cylinder eBay link above, I believe it does match the fob key part, it you drive out the roll pin and separate from the pivot casting. It seems to be consistent with that shown on page 13 of the "How to take apart a Crossfire key fob by tom2112" pdf. That key part might also matches what was delivered with my salvage lock cylinder (center of https://www.crossfireforum.org/forum...ly-tumbler.jpg ).
The cylinder eBay photo is lousy, so slightly tough to confirm, but that stub key should be Mercedes/Chrysler fob-compatible.

You are correct of course, I had forgot the two parts to the key itself.
My main point was the mod to the cylinder to match the original, you did it but others may have missed that point.

I had to replace my lock cylinder also, had it rekeyed at a local locksmith.
Not only was the part from Chrysler ridiculous in price but they also needed the old one back.
I got mine on Amazon.

Depending on which Chrysler dealer I went to, the price for the barrel alone was either £250 or £550(!!!). In the end I have got the barrel and key for £150. I need it for a manual but they sent me one for an auto saying there's no difference - is that right??

I doubt that there is any difference, why would there be?
Funny that they would say it is for an auto though and then say there is no difference.
