OK, overly tired and pi$$ed FCA has done nothing (for me). Went to file an ethics complaint here ( https://secure.ethicspoint.eu/domain...75/report.html ). Told them 6 months (from 11 April) and I'll seek legal action. All they have to do is call my bluff (but it isn't a bluff). If I cannot find a law firm willing to take the case or class an action, I will self fund with a good contract with law firm (if found). They are sitting on their collective a$$es and this customer will not wait longer than 6 months for them to find a fracking D/S airbag that will work and not kill me. For GAWD's sake, they have three years prior bags that will fit the damn thing (by part numbers vs year, model, specs in parts listings we have in the doc collection). I wonder if they play poker? They sure play fast n fancy with customer safety.

Actually, I've been in two crashes where airbags deployed on me.
My 05 Roadster
A 2014 Dodge Ram truck

... both threw shrapnel that cut my leg/arm. My only real concern would be if that went into my good eye (I have but one).

The old boys network save each other when needed and provides jobs on company boards to prevent them having hard times, you and I can go to hell as far as they are concerned.
Exactly, Dave.

Exactly PG, that's my biggest worry. If I lose my only good eye I am screwed beyond words. Already fear eye damage if it goes off without shredding...

I have never received a recall notice on my 2005, I wonder if I should be concerned.

The 2005 model year had the airbags supplied by TRW, so not involved in this recall.

I have an SLK wheel and Airbag on my Crossfire and have removed and reattached it 4 or 5 times. Never did that reinstall procedure, never had an issue. I reinstalled the airbag, hooked the battery back up, turned the car ON from the passenger seat, all is good.
I would think that is what the computer in the car does (Airbag Verification Test) every time you turn the key on and the Airbag light goes out.

Oh my... I wonder if all the peeps who swapped steering wheels are aware of the 'donor' car year/model (for either inclusion or exclusion of any recall data dealing with this Takata (missing desiccant) exploding airbag issue?

Are you saying when you disconnected the old steering wheel airbag circuit, and reconnected a different airbag in the steering wheel assembly, that you did not have to 'reset' or have reset, any SRS/airbag system or lamp?

Do the transplant with the battery disconnected and the patient wakes up none the wiser. Do it with the battery connected, which is really risky, or connect the battery during the absence of the bag and the light will come on and have to be reset at the dealer.

Yes, that is what I'm saying. I have done so 4-5 times. No issues. Different steering wheel assembly and different Airbag.

And them anuses at Chrysler cannot fix my recalled airbag? Jeeze, kind of cements my impression that they are dragging their anuses to frustrate their owners (marketing plan so we buy something else).

Well it looks like now for us at least this whole airbag fiasco is over for us. We recently moved and checked with the nearby dealership and they have the parts for the recall and will be replacing the part 9/22.

This could be the initial indication of good news coming soon!

Nice to know that fellow Crossfire Owners that are not impacted by the Takata Airbag recall are understanding of the concerns & fears of us that are impacted by the Takata Airbag recall. Have several of us taken positions that are extreme regarding this recall? Possibly that is the case for some. But I feel confident that all of us impacted by this recall would like to know that a fellow Crossfire Owner received word from a local dealer that the parts were available to perform the repair.

That was my position with my comment. And I wasn't particularly thrilled with your response! I'll be just a glad as you when this issue is behind us all.

If I over-reacted to your sarcasm, I apologize in advance for that.

Is the 08 coupe and roadster airbag the same?

I once looked up the D/S airbag numbers and found the same part numbers in many different years/models, just the 'cover' was a different cover. I am not sure how the bag comes (with or without the cover). That would explain the differing part numbers BUT the module inside must fit the stem and wheel assemblies.
