There is a 'base' model coupe, and a 'limited' model coupe.
Major difference is that the 'base' :
1. has cloth seats
2. the seats are not electrically adjustable
3. the windshield trim and engine cover are black
4. the radio ***** are black
5. the sound system has no external amplifier or woofer speakers

Base model also has movable headrests and no fog lights.

-No cup holder, comes with a bin.
-No Homelink
-No "Crossfire" nameplated stainless steel door sill plates
-No storage net between both front seats
-No storage nets behind both front seats mounted on the bulkhead at the bottom
-No silver cigarette lighter, black ****.
-No Tire Pressure Monitor
-No Aluminum rubber studded pedals
-No Power Seats
-Different seats altogether with adjustable headrests
-No Leather Seats
-No Heated Seats
-No 6 speaker 240 watt Infinity Modulus radio (Base just has a 4 speaker stereo with black ***** and NO AMPLIFIER)
-No Fog Lights
-No Silver trimmed speaker grilles
-No Satin Silver Finish exterior windshield frame, side fender vents and door handles (all black on Base)
-No Chrome finish on exhaust pipe tips
-No Automatic Transmission Option
-No Color Option other than BLACK CLEARCOAT
-No Interior Color Option other than BLACK CLOTH
-No Gas Strut on Glovebox door (This Strut Available on the Limited creates a slow opening door rather than just dropping open)
-No Heated Exterior Mirrors
-No Cabin Air Filtration System (Base just has a simple recirculation feature)
-And usually comes standard with the All Season Performance Conti's
-No Floormats
-No Touring Gear
-No Silver engine cover, it's black.

I'm not sure this is a 100% correct, I just copied it and added a few more.

The 2004 model is the "Coupe". It only came in one configuration.
Starting in 2005, the Crossfire Coupe came as a Base, Limited, and SRT models.
The difference between the 2004 Crossfire Coupe, and a 2005 Crossfire Limited Coupe?
The 2004 has an automatic dimming rear view mirror, and the Crossfire lettering on the hatch is in a lower position. Plus the silver trim in the interior is shiny vs the "flat" silver finish in the remaining production years.

The 2004 also had the wiring for the optional navigation radio. Later models had to have wiring changes to accommodate the nav radio.

Thanks Dave, that's good to know.
I think the 04's also have different axles, but I wasn't sure exactly what the difference was.

Yes, I think you are correct, 04's bolt on and the others slide in or something.

On the positive side, the 2004s had a self-dimming rear view mirror rather than the "cheap-a$$" manual dimmer. I slammed Chrysler at customer feedback time (for my roadster, which I purchased new) for that cheap move.

That cheap move was easily remedied in my case for $25.
Soon after I bought my 2005, I found 3 2004 dimmers on car-part.com - I bought 'em all.
Used one, gave one to maxcichon and sold the other to a forum member for $25 + shipping.
There is a thread here somewhere about installing them.

Hey... My 08 has a flimsy nylon strap thingie on the glove box door. No 'gas strut' to open it smoothly. I guess a nylon strap thingie was cheaper to put in after the sales were so dismal?

Quite possible you could have. As I understand it, the 04's had different rear axles than the subsequent models. Haven't personally verified that though.

If you look at the parts lists you can see that the '04s are held in with 4 screws and 4 retainers on each side of the diff. Later years are different.
'04s have the same shaft both sides and later years have a left and right hand shaft.
