Default Exhaust Leak

Hey Guys!

Proud owner of a 2004 with 117k! I noticed a ticking sound for the last several months when it was cold, but seemed to make less noise once it warmed up, and I read this was pretty normal for these cars, so I disregarded it.

This poast weekend I noticed a very pronounced rumbling/vibration under the driver seat when acclerating heavily between first and second gear, but then dispates. I was thinking this must be exhaust related, so I took it to Big Al's who said I had an exhaust manifold leak and a brokem bracket and needed a new Wide Pipe assembly to repalce 3 Cat's and The manifold. He quoted me 1100 dollars to do the work, but I don't think that is causing the rumbling... Thoughts?

Interested to hear what your outcome is. I have a similar sound on the driver's side. Is the manifold removable without lifting the engine?

I am not sure, but I don't think so. I am inlcined to think his noise/vibrating might be the rear end... I wish someone could tell me!

Lots of ppl remove 2 of the cats and leave other 2, still pass inspection and sounds better.
Exhaust leaks happen, usually is worse when vechicles sit for extended periods of time

Ended up not being Exhaust related. It is the Center/Carrier Bearing that connects both sections of the driveshaft. Chrysler does not stock the part only the entire driveshaft. Used theis link I found in the forum. Hope it works!
