Re: What did you do to your Crossfire today?
There was a post on here that I saw and it worked for me.
I remember there are 2 fuses in the engine fuse box. Remove bot of them. Then disconnect the negative battery cable for 3 minutes. Then put the fuses back i and then connect then reconnect the negative cable. It should reset the radio.
If I can find the post, I'll put it here.

Thanks John, I'll make sure I pull the correct fuses before yanking them (I have the 2008 manual and I have heard some fuses are different).

Took my 6 Speed Roadster to Irongate Motor Condos - Cars & Stars Car Show today
I was among hundreds of cars and of course to only Crossfire in the show
I have a friend who is an owner of a Motor Condo here at Irongate and I park outside his condo for all the shows held there each year
Here are a few pics with my Roadster ..........................
Arrived about an hour prior to the show and parked here outside of Lee's motor condo
From his 3rd floor car condo balcony

I vacuumed and washed my car. Drove it fast to get the droplets off. Parked it.
Hailstorm came about and put about 15 dings all over. Another hit and broke passenger rear taillight.
……looking for someone who has one hidden away for a rainy day.
my house has about 75 spots of cracked and chipped vinyl.

Radio is BAAAAAACK! This morning I got ready to delve into the crazy radio failure I experienced. The radio 'F/W' reset was the first thing I tried. But before going out to the car in the garage, I looked over the schematics & troubleshooting steps in the 2008 service manual set I purchased loooong ago. I was ready to do this work with a plan. 1st, I tried the 'F/W reset just opening the door and hitting (holding) the 'opt' and buttons 1 & 3. That did not work. I then put the key in the iggy, turned to 'on' position (not started) and hit 'opt' and buttons 1 & 3. After @ 2-3 seconds the radio 'whirred' (prob the CD drive) and that was something I was interested in. I hit the 'on' button, and the radio came to life. Thank you, John, for remembering/finding that post from Jan 2006, linking it, and mentioning post #2 from member RowdyRoadster).
Even though I was online again, I had mentioned I reviewed the schematics/troubleshooting in the 08 service manuals. I was prepared to remove the NEG cable (always needed because the siren will screech if the POS cable is removed before the NEG cable). I also was ready to pull/check (for the 08 model year) fuses #5 & 8 for the radio & fuse #23 for the amp. I was also ready to check the fuse at the rear of the radio before reconnecting the NEG battery cable. I was ready for this so that I could also check the pinouts (although I was confident power was at all three terminals but not sure if the voltage was sufficient to meet the minimum rqmts of the service manual's troubleshooting steps. After the F/W reset brought back the radio to life, I was done (but ready to ultimately determine if the radio was kaput-sky)
I listed these steps for anyone else who wanted to refresh their steps for using the 2008 service manual set after trying the F/W reset noted in the post listed. As I understand it, the 04-07 fuse listing is different & I am not sure the same troubleshooting steps would be the same as listed in the 08 manual.
Thanks again John!

Re: What did you do to your Crossfire today?
I had my car detailed today.
What a difference!
The paint was water spotted and had a lot of swirl marks. Now it looks great and feels like glass!
I still have to repair a few scratches with touch-up paint.
Before and after pics. (I know it's hard too see the difference in pictures).

……..the Geico adjuster, flown in from Colorado earlier in the morning, spent upwards of an hour with the inspection before looking me in the eye and saying, “I’m sorry but we are declaring it a total loss.
here are the figures Geico used for my 2004 Crossfire (57K, automatic, very good condition, with no issues)
$9,561 Current value with 3 pages of items, including little thing like tire thread depth
$1,000. Less my Policy deductable
$1,050 Less what a salvage yard will pay for it in current condition
$7,511 The check I will be getting later this week
i keep the car and get a new title stating something like “hail damage”. its a rotten thing to happen but I think the Process was fair.

Re: What did you do to your Crossfire today?
well, it was a bit more than 15 dings. My poor Crossfire endured more than 60.

I'm sorry to hear about them declaring "hail damage" on your title. I wonder if there's away to clear that if the damage is repaired and the car is inspected by motor vehicle department?

Re: What did you do to your Crossfire today?
Freya reached her 30,000 miles as I pulled up to my friend's house in Rodeo, New Mexico, about a 90-mile drive. We added a few driving to Portal, Arizona for lunch. On the drive home I got to enjoy both a dust storm and a rain shower ... learned the ceramic coating I put on two months ago is still pretty hydrophobic, the rain beaded up and dried without leaving waterspots after we cleared the rain shower.
Recent oil change and service confirmed all is well, mechanically, and Freya just keeps running smoothly and reliably.
Smiles for miles ...
