Re: What did you do to your Crossfire today?
It was such a nice day on Wednesday (reached low 70's) that I decided to do a small upgrade. I bought some LED bulbs awhile back that fit the license plate lights. So I removed the lens covers and swapped out the OEM bulbs for the new LED versions. Since the lens covers were showing signs of deterioration after 14 years, I super-glued small flat washers (#6's) on the flanges where the screws are located. After letting these setup for about an hour, I then re-installed the light covers. When it got somewhat dark yesterday, I turned on the lights and was surprised how much brighter the plate shows up - even with a dark license plate lens over the plate.

Re: What did you do to your Crossfire today?
I am seeing a crusty-looking build up on the aluminum part of the intakes. I have seen some posts of people that have cleaned it with good results. What is the best thing to use/way to clean the corrosion off? Thanks for any advice.

Here's a source for Anti Corrosion Gel to clean the magnesium/aluminum engine parts. You want to make sure you wear rubber gloves when applying this gel!! I've got a small jar of this material and just waiting for warmer weather to work on engine.

Re: What did you do to your Crossfire today?
I've watched many of his videos on youtube, and had seen the anti corrosion gel one before. I don't know what it is made of, but I have no doubt it will work. Its good you shared that information.
Just contributing what I did related to the corrosion. I researched how to handle this problem years ago and tried silicone grease, which is anti-corrosion as well, along with red and green scotch bright pads. I was very pleased with the results and the areas have stayed free of any new oxidation.
Silicone grease is an excellent rubber door and trunk seal protectant. A very little bit on the inside of spark plug boots make them easy to go on and off. A little bit in the side marker light sockets prevents corrosion there.
Here is a link to what I purchase:

~ Uncovered the Aero-Blue Roadster and vacuumed the dust off of the top, then treated the top with the Aero-333 stuff.
~ Started her up for the first time in a couple of months and let it run for 10 minutes or so. She sounds great..need to address the driver side valve cover leak....before I sell it...yes, it's still for sale but on hold at the moment.

Nice looking engine bays on both cars. .

the AERO-BLUE ROADSTER
~ Removed the siren alarm under the windshield cowl. Opened it and discovered it was un salvageable due to circuit board damage from leaky batteries and ordered a new one.
~ Cleaned all debris from under cowl area and opened and tested the drain holes.
~ Ordered new oil filler neck and cap /gasket set
-- Waiting on parts

Re: What did you do to your Crossfire today?
I have owned my SRT6 for almost a month now and have added Needswings oil-catch-can and DCAI systems. I took the car out for the first time yesterday and for the initial 7-8 miles the engine ran great and I was really impressed with the power. On a second ride 15 minutes later, I developed a significant lag (1 to 2 seconds) when depressing the accelerator pedal. Turns out that I had a lose 3” clamp on the passenger side intake. Of course, the Check Engine light came on and it appears that it will need to be reset.
Time to do some research on this sire for preferred code readers for Crossfires. Not sure if the Check Engine light will remain on until it is reset, or perhaps go off on its own?
Before yesterday, I had only driven the car 2 miles to get her home. The car has only been driven for a total of 400 miles in the past two years.\

George, how long does it take to charge the internal battery on your CRP123? I just got mine, it was 'pre-charged' and after playing with it a few (update, all that stuff), it got down to 68% and I plugged it in. Its been quite a while, and it just finished charging.
