The existing ground connection for the engine is from the body. I preferred the direct connection between the battery and engine.

Upcoming project: Installation leather roll bars over the headrest and rear headrest roll bar trim cover panel. Taken out of 2004 SLK230 Kompressor Special Edition. Doing this project because I have nothing else to do with my Xfire
I hope you got the right engine cover, there are I think three models that look the same, two of them rub on the hood liner and get marked up. I know as I found out the hard way and two covers went to the dump.

All engine covers from 2001 to 2004 for SLK320 has the same part number A1120901501. I hope everything will be fine. My engine cover was taken from 2004 SLK320.

Check your part number again, you have missed "0"
1120900501 should be
11209005(missed "0")1 your part number
Maybe you have an older cover than 2001-2004.

Sorry I misread your post, I was talking about ones that improve the intake of air. That one provides a cosmetic change.

Thanks, that may have caused me or anyone I might have given it to some confusion.

I was having intermittent starting problems caused by faulty RCM. Sent it to TJ to do his magic. Received it ASAP and installed it and no more problems! Xfire starts up with immediately!

Thank you TJ!

Next project is having hydraulics for convertible top repaired so I don't have to continue doing manual operation of the top.....

I uncovered my roadster for first time in 4 months and started on my “to-do” list. Got the rubber grommet installed on the drivers side wiper. Got plenty more stuff to do. Looking forward to some warm top down driving.

Installed Rear Diffusers. Imported Mopar Accessory diffusers from Germany last fall. Great glass work, came in black. Primered and water sanded to smooth finish like the body and then shot PPG base coat, clear coat, airbrush and rattle can, then water sand and polish finish over the winter. Turned out pretty good, nice install. I am still missing lighted door sills. If you would like a set of Air Diffusers custom painted to match your car, I would be willing to finish you a new, OEM matching set of diffusers for your car and add some cash if you have a set of lighted door sills you'll part with. My wife and I can hardly wait to be back on the road in April.

What's the lug size on both ends? 3/8" or 5/16"? 8mm or 10mm?

Hey Monaderio I did not specifically measure the size of the eye. If I were a guessing man I would say it's 3/8. It fit the bell housing bolt without requiring any relief and I used a small flat washer at the battery.
