Greco called to say their guy saw the car and the repair is approved....... the estimate is downgraded to $2,550 from original body shop cost of $3,200.

i appreciate all the experiences, suggestions, and strategy, including listings of doors across the country.

the best to you all.

Steve, I have Hagerty, not heard of the Cherish. James

I was fortunate that my battery which was about to end its life made it through the weekend down at the Dragon
I had no indications it was getting weak until Sunday morning with the cranking a little slow although the wing didn’t come up when I started the car

Then on Monday when I was leaving to come home
again it cranked a little slow but the wing didn’t come up as it usually does when the battery has low voltage
I drove 11 hours home and parked it in the garage
Then I decided yesterday when I got home and it had been sitting in the garage for a couple of days I’ll check the battery voltage which I did and it only read 10.75
Expecting when I got in it wouldn’t start I was correct I did get a click click click but no crank over no start
Headed out this morning picked up a brand new interstate battery my favorite and put it in everything is good and there appears to be no drain on the new battery so I suspect the old one just had a weak cell and it was done
When I bought the car from Carol last year she didn’t have a receipt and didn’t remember how old the battery was so therefore I didn’t either.
I can only assume it was time and it just died after the last big event this summer

Car batteries have the date of manufacture stamped on them, most often on the rim, attached labels show the date it was first charged and in some cases recharged.
So get the newest battery you can find. Batteries on sale are often older batteries that they want to clear from stock ASAP.

just got off the phone with hagerty . They will not insure my 05 crossfire if driven over 5000 miles a yr. And also hagerty cant be your primary insurer. But however i did like their quote if driven less than 5000 miles . I just picked a number value of $10,000 and the quote was $586 a yr

Or, the moving of the wire to disable the TPMS system above the mirror under the headliner.

We’ve already had snow, twice. Winter is a few weeks away. I took advantage of a beautiful day to wash and clean the car before a few months of hibernation
(BTW , if anyone followed the wing repair, so far so good, no new cracks)

Received my custom engine plaque today. It’s from the guy that makes Crossfire emblems in Latvia. Pretty happy with the quality of it.

3) I removed my fan shroud.

4) I used gasket sealant to glue a HID bulb into the headlight housing since the retainer clip is missing.

5) I realized that I have to remove the exhaust, to remove the starter, to install the Miller flywheel lock, to remove the crank pulley. Hopefully tomorrow I'll have an update of me installing something.

That's what I did today.

Anthony I know this is an old post but may I ask you hot to fix the adjustment bolt mine broke off as well it is so brittle . Thank you

I sprayed my double DIN bezels, MK1 and MK2 versions with primer coats, which showed where some further filling is required.

Thanks, I will use the one piece bezel which is the MK2 version. When I started I had to decide if I wanted the ash tray module or the cup holder/bin layout. I opted for the ashtray but changed my mind when the Items were finished and just needed painting. So I made the one piece bezel and primed them both at the same time.

Dave, they both look awesome! Do/will they have all the associated mounting points (ie, as the OEM has where the clips are near the top)? Will you show the rear of both as well? Love to see them finished/installed, just to see how they look. If you get a second XF, you can have both options. I happen to like the one where the switches are on the console, it just looks 'sexier'... Of course, at our age, sexier isn't as much a consideration (then again, we do LOVE the XF as a sexy automobile!).
