What did you do to your Crossfire today?
Re: What did you do to your Crossfire today?
Took the coupe to Discount Tire for TPMS service this morning. TPMS warning light came on a month or so back. When they scanned the wheel sensors, they found both sensors on the Driver's-side bad. I had already bought a VDO REDI-Sensor (P/N SE10004A; 433 mHz) from O'Reilly's in case there was only 1 defective sensor. Turns out Discount Tire had the same VDO sensor in their store inventory. Anyway, both sensors were replaced. But Discount Tire was unable to finish up static learn using their TPMS tool. Was watching thru shop window & I didn't see the Shop Manager go completely around the car to read the wheel sensor ID's before attempting upload thru OBDII port (YouTube video I have from VDO says that procedure has to be followed on Chrysler cars).
Looks like I'm going to Benson CDJR in Greenville so the DRBIII can be used to finish the re-learn & clear the fault. Or I may get my hands on the DRBIII simulator software and complete the setup myself.

Re: What did you do to your Crossfire today?
Took the opportunity to clean the wheels after I got home from TPMS service this morning. I took the center caps off and removed the locking lug bolts on each wheel before I left for Discount Tire. Realizing the wheel center hubs were somewhat dirty, took the time to wash each wheel thoroughly after I got home. Re-installed a locking lug bolt on each wheel & then re-installed the center caps.
I did find the lug bolts on the DS wheels to be "over-torqued" after Discount Tire did their work. Fairly typical when I have wheel service done. Most of the lug bolts were up around 90-95 ft-lbs, instead of the 80 ft-lbs spec. Their shop ticket even stated the lug bolt torque was to be set at 80 ft-lbs! Doubt any of the Service Techs (using that identifier is a stretch) even look at the shop tickets.

Re: What did you do to your Crossfire today?
Started the process of cleaning the engine bay on my 2007 Coupe today. Leaving for Detroit next week to attend the Woodward Cruise event with the Crossfire Owners. So many nice Crossfires attending thought I needed to "gussie up" the Coupe so it looked presentable within the group.

Re: What did you do to your Crossfire today?
Prior post is my cleaned-up and no longer "sticky" duovalve. Did a coolant change & flush today plus a properly OCD-worthy job of cleaning all the gunk off the duovalve. It reacts instantly now to me adjusting the temp ****(s) whereas before it responded very sluggishly if at all. Having the duovalve plungers removed helped when back-flashing the cooling system with fresh water. A LOT of old blue coolant came pouring out of the two openings. The coolant is now a very faint yellow without even a hint of green, so I know all the old stuff was eradicated. Anyway success and don't have to shell out for a new valve.

Re: What did you do to your Crossfire today?
Thanks. That's the (gonna show how stupid I am so brace yourself) upper half of the valve, the electrical/dry-side. I'm guessing the bulbous things are magnets that slide up & down inside the electric coils. Below that metal-plate is the coolant-side of the valve that have brass-seats. When closed no coolant flows through (into the cabin). To show how cheap Mercedes got the shaft attached to the brass seats is plastic instead of making the whole part out of brass. I guess some engineer figured out a way to save 10 cents times millions of valves in hopes he'd get a raise!

"Drove it Like I Stole it", through the "S" curves on Hwy 42 Ocala Natnl. Forest between Weirsdale and Altoona in Linadale, FL. The Rescue SSB-SRT rides so nice, it was a pleasant 100 mile round trip. Gotta watch for deer and black bears though...Peace

Changed the Supercharger oil. Removed fan assembly and wiped and cleaned all hoses. Discovered a cut in a hose because someone left off the stand off bracket when they replaced the alternator. Cant find the hose part number either, so....the grin factor fades a bit.
Re: What did you do to your Crossfire today?
Today I went to replace my valve cover gasket only to find it's just the breather caps that are leaking. Plus I realized that in my worn-out state this week I never ordered oil. So that project will wait until next weekend. I then decided to put an extra power outlet in the console box as there are two places already designed for them. Pulled the console out and added only one outlet and connected it to the cigarette lighter wires. Laid the wires under the console and put everything back together. I had messaged two people trying to figure which wire was hot and which was ground only to remember that I have the service manual as a PDF. (FYI, Black with stripe is positive and brown is ground). I have two more to put in but have yet to decide where since they will power my FRS radio and dashcam while on the road. I will do a write-up but sorry I did not take photos.

I think you should raise the hood to the highest, I think this takes the strain of the cylinder and makes the cylinder last longer, it also looks better.
Re: What did you do to your Crossfire today?
yeah nice.
Nothing quite like setting up a drive-in move screen in the middle of the lot by opening it up to 90 degrees. Great way to make friends
Any way, if you don't break it, you don't need a new one. If you don't need a new one, then you have one less reason to look under the hood and that just blows
Do we live in a great place or what?
Happy Saturday
