I have the car a nice detailing inside and out and finally polished up the headlights. They were looking sad.

Checked the air filters, put new gasket material on the upper valve covers, and drove it!

I used a 3M kit on the headlights today. The passenger's side was horrible while the driver's side was "normal" looking. I'm a bit puzzled as the car only had 17,500 miles on it when I bought it and for the past year it's been in a garage except when it's being driven.

Anyway, the 3M kit did a beautiful job. It brought both units back to factory clarity. Not bad for $25. After going through the process, I'd advise using a kit that includes a drill. I can't imagine doing that amount of abrasion by hand.

Unfortunately our cars are prone to the headlight issue. My '06 never did have the problem though, so maybe later models had the plastic improved a bit. I used the 3M kit as well followed up by Meguiars PlasticX.

The oxidation should be on the outside. I know it looks to be on the inside, but I have polished up sets from an '04 and my current '05 and it gets rid of it. Now if you have condensation on the inside, check out:

It is on the inside, and I did a polish last week...I can see the film on the inside. I just can't find methanol...the purest I have found is 99.95%...

resets your throttle to "learn" your driving style.
1. turn key to on/run
2. press gas pedal to floor
3. hold pedal down for 5 seconds
4. turn key off - release pedal
5. wait 2 minutes
6. ready to drive

for more info search - "throttle reset"
