What did you do to your Crossfire today?
Re: What did you do to your Crossfire today?
There is no cleaner or protectant that will work better than using ceramic brake pads...
Re: What did you do to your Crossfire today?
Keep up the therapy, and you’ll be as good as new - plus a few years.
Re: What did you do to your Crossfire today?
I’m right there with you...but it was my right knee done on 5/16/19. I got in my 6 speed Crossfire the other day just to back it out of garage and take it down the street. (My garage door opener had died and I was getting it replaced.) Have been off pain meds for awhile so regardless of the wife’s dirty looks, I’m comfortable driving as necessary. No problem stepping on the accelerator or brakes.
Re: What did you do to your Crossfire today?
Hi everyone,
Today I changed the oil and oil filter on my 2004 Crossfire. No problems except for the drain plug washer (sometimes called a crush washer}. In February 2019 I ordered two Mann oil filters and two Mahle oil drain plug washers from Rock Auto for my 2004 Chrysler Crossfire. The oil filters are fine but the Mahle B32518 copper drain plug washers do not fit a 2004 Crossfire. They are too small. I checked the oil drain plug washer for a 2004 Mercedes Benz SLK 320 since the Chrysler Crossfire and Mercedes Benz SLK 320 are the same car mechanically. RockAuto shows the Dorman 65399 drain plug washer for the MB SLK 320. I have ordered the Dorman 65399 from RockAuto today hoping that it is the correct drain plug washer for my Crossfire. Someone at RockAuto needs to review these two drain plug washers and remove the Mehle B32518 drain plug washer from the Chrysler Crossfire listings. It is too small and will not fit. To complete my oil and filter change I re-used the old drain plug washer. When I receive the Dorman 65399 drain plug washer that I ordered from RockAuto I will let the Forum know if the Dorman 65399 fits our Crossfires. My suggestion to anyone who will be changing the oil and filter in their Crossfire is not to order the Mahle B32518 listed on the RockAuto website as the drain plug washer for our Crossfires. It is too small and will not fit.

These are also listed on Amazon under Dorman 65310. $6 & change for a pkg of 3; free shipping with Prime. Update - Needed to buy these washers and stopped by local Pep Boys earlier this afternoon. Package of 3 for $4.19 + tax.

I took time between rain showers this morning to polish the headlights on all my cars, including the 2007 Coupe. I try to do this 2x/year on the vehicles with plastic lenses (my 1995 Jeep Wrangler Rio Grande uses a real headlight). So far, I've never had any issues with the plastic lenses fogging over like on so many cars nowadays.

What happened to Mike-in-Orange?
Has he gone over to the dark side, FaceBook? His last post was a year ago about his top failing and before that two and a half years.
He always had good info on car care.

Re: What did you do to your Crossfire today?
I used the last of my Blue Magic Headlight Lens Restorer when I did this earlier this weekend. Just wanted to use up the remaining product. I usually use Meguiar's PlastX Clear Plastic Cleaner & Polish on the vehicles. This product also does a terrific job of removing the haze that occurs on my 1995 Jeep Wrangler Rio Grande windows throughout the canvas top..

For alabaster white owners
I bought paint today because I’m going to paint a few components this Friday.
Paint story
Two years ago I painted the front bumper cover with PPG as the supplier, alabaster white to match or so I thought.
I provided them with the Chrysler colour and they cross referenced it with their formula. Apparently all good. (my understanding is that PPG was the original paint manufacturer for our vehicles).
12 years of UV and a perfect match no more. Crap if you’re looking you can see that it’s not a fervent match and we all know that there are a million different shades of White
What to do
I removed the spoiler and took it to the paint supplier again PPG. Explained the situation. They pulled out the SunGun and scanned the wing.
They were able to get the match to a 2.
A score of 0 is perfect and they rarely see 2 or 3
They compared it to all Chrysler colours and to all MB colours and no match
The score of 2 matches Ford
North America diamond white.
I’ll let you know how it all goes on Saturday when I install the items

Re: What did you do to your Crossfire today?
Had pre-engine modification dyno pulls done. 505 RWHP and 544 Torque. Adding a overdrive supercharger pulley to increase boost, and some new custom parts from Needswings to increase air intake that include a new supercharger inlet, larger throttle body and 3 inch DCAI for the AMG V8.
Re: What did you do to your Crossfire today?
I see a great deal of upgrades and fixes from all of you. Now I would like to ask. Does anybody know what type of plastic the bumper is made from? I have a few deep scratches from the previous owner and I want to use the correct filler material to smooth them out.
Thanks
Thanks

Re: What did you do to your Crossfire today?
Took me six months, but I have my car back on the road again. Returned from the alignment shop just this morning and she is straight as an arrow, I was most concerned about the frame, but the thrust angle measured this morning is 0.02 so I am very happy. I will remove the front bumper and repaint it in the next couple weeks, but she is running as good as ever and we are ready for the Dragon this Fall. See you all.
