Re: What did you do to your Crossfire today?
Flood in LA. Heartbroken Love my Crossfire, looks like new but will not start. Is it possible that just the starter good be the problem? Water was just 6" in the car.
yes. water in spare tire well. got all out, dried out but because of electronics, don't know if it will last heated seats etc. all under water.

As in 6" up the door panel water mark? I'm guessing since water won't drain from the security module area in the trunk.. it won't permeate there either.. but all the electronics under the passenger footwell.. stereo amp and transmission module.. would have drowned.
And I'm not sure whether that depth would have allowed water entrance around the center bulkhead to enter the trunk - module area..

Nothing, other than drive 70 miles each way to replace a transmission conductor plate in an 04 Coupe with 150K miles for a non-forum member friend.
My first try at that, not too really hard, if you have a ex GM dealer car lift in the barn like she does .....
( new fluid, filter and transmission connector also )

Put fresh oil and filter in . Its so easy from the top with my trusty little 12v oil pump.
7k kms intervals , Mobil 1 0-40 and a Mann HU718/5 filter.
A package from needswings arrived too, Stainless brake lines , chill charger, new rocker cover gaskets and more. Going to paint the covers and sort the weepy breathers at last.
Looking forward to getting my tuned TCM too :-)

There are several commercially available products that you could use that are probably more available than this RTV. I've attached a couple of Permatex products that are specifically rated for oil pans. There are other suitable products out there. Good luck with your repair.

Re: What did you do to your Crossfire today?
Did the transmission fluid change along with the damn leaky connector that was dripping on my garage floor. Local transmission shop wanted $225 to change what I did for about $40. It was a pain crawling under that damn little car but with the money I saved I bought some Aleve for my aches and pains.

Changed my manual transmission and rear differential fluid, wow does it shift smoother! I did this at a garage called All in Garage, it's like a hobby shop, you get to use their lift and all their tools for $30/hr. I love it! Anyway it only took an hour to do it!
They snapped a picture of me too!

Having one of these around would be really a great asset for us DIYers.

Participated in the Euro Auto Festival in Greenville, SC this past weekend. Event is held at the Verdae Green Golf Club which is part of the Embassy Suites located on Verdae Blvd. This was the 21st annual show and it's becoming a major event on the car show circuit.
My 2007 Limited Coupe was included in the "One of a Kind" category since I was the only Crossfire entered. Parked next to me was a 1967 Bizzarrini Targa with a Lamborghini V-12 under the hood. Bizzarrini designed the Lmbo V-12, if I remember correctly. A Delorean was parked on the other side of me.
Here's link to the post I made elsewhere of the show field. (Note: We were parked right in front of the 18th green on the course.)

Re: What did you do to your Crossfire today?
I remember a business like this growing up in KCMO North. Guy had probably 6 or 8 stalls. But he ended up closing due to high costs for insurance coverage. Apparently the risks of vehicle damage from using the lifts improperly were more then the insurance providers wanted to take.
Having one of these around would be really a great asset for us DIYers.

So we have generations of people that had to learn on the job or not at all. Many did not learn and are totally reliant on others to fix even the most simple things, like washers in taps that are endlessly dripping. What a sad state of affairs.

This car sounds like toast, soggy toast.

The same could be said for floor jacks and jack stands, use at your own risk.
