Had not seen those before Gary. I did find one that goes into the CD slot that works VERY WELL. Can be removed by just loosening a thumb screw. It is Magnetic also. I use it for my I-Phone 6 A little plate goes behind my phone case and when you put to the device it is held in place magnetically. Does not affect the phone either..

I found a good thread and pasted this part. Here is the whole thread too.

Not the usual Seat Htr problem

Hey guys . . . according to the Crossfire Specialist Student Reference Book . . . I quote on the Heated Seats

" The heaters may automatically switch off due to HIGH electrical system demand or a low battery. When this occurs, one or both indicator lamps blink (depending on selected heating level) until enough voltage is available."

That is why when it is really cold and you start up the car, with a low battery and switching on the rear defrost, you get the blinking lights. I would suggest you let the car run for a bit before hitting the heater switches ! I don't drive my car in the winter, so have not encountered this issue. . . .however, I did recall reading it . . .

Here's another

This morning I had the blinking problem at 13 degrees. I've had it few times before on cold mornings.

I was thinking that this is caused by an over current draw by the resistive heaters. When too cold they draw too much current, when up to a reasonable temperature all is okay. Usually your butt heats the seat up enough in a few minutes that it works normally.

I thought that each blink was an actual current pulse to the heater. Having this in mind, I decided to hold the button down to see what would happen.

As I held the high heat button down, I saw that each pulse got a little bit longer. Heaters warming up, resistance going up, current going down? After 25 to 30 pules it stayed on.

Well I sold it. Finally came to grips that my 2004 coupe I bought as a daily driver was not really working for me in the snow. A sweetheart of a car, and very reliable, but driving it in the snow to work was a bit nerve wrecking. So I'm buying a very low mileage 2012 E350 4Matic as my daily driver.

You will love the E, they are a sweatheart of a car. I wish I had not sold the one we bought, but the Acura RL we replaced it with is great car too. Hope all is well, FP!

Today the Crossfire got a new battery
I bought my last battery in 2009 and it was a 7 year Interstate MPT-91
Well it lasted 1 month short of the 7 years without ever failing to start my car
It became weak sitting in my garage for a couple weeks and wouldn't hold a charge

So today I replaced it with another Interstate MPT-48/H6
This is now the equivalent replacement for the last one which is no longer manufactured.
Fits exactly as the OEM with the hold down in place
I'm good for another 6 years !!

On Wednesday, hit a chunk of curb off of a drain culvert, scuffed right front rim and tire, blew sidewall of right rear tire. $520 later, 2 new Goodyear Eagle Sport A/S on the rear. I was able to limp to a tire shop so didn't need a tow, or leave it on the side of the road, so I bit the bullet and just got what I could. It still has the original tires up front, I plan on replacing those in the spring.

Replaced the stock reversing bulb with an 80watt Osram LED, what a difference!

Went to bed last night hoping to get some drive time today since the heavy rain Tuesday night did a good job washing the salt off the roads. Never did get around to it today due to persistent flurries and graupel but, the weekend is looking pretty decent at this point so I may try and get to the local Cars and Coffee Saturday morning. One way or another I will get some time behind the wheel this weekend.

Thanks! I had to look up graupel, never heard of it. I would say I was in pretzel salt snow, just to describe that stuff. Last week I was in a mini blizzard of it, like I was in a snow globe.

pretzel salt snow

We used to call it bean bag snow. When my son was in the second or third grade he had a friend come over to the house to play. My wife was in the kitchen making dinner and she could hear them in his room laughing and having a good old time. She asked them what they were doing and my son answered "making it snow". Curiously, she went to see what the heck he was talking about and found out they had unzipped the bean bag chair and emptied it of it's stuffing. Millions, maybe billions of tiny Styrofoam ball everywhere and they looked just like graupel. Years later we got a bunch of graupel and that's when the weather guy on TV explained it.

Finally got to drive her, sunny and 46 degrees. Even put the top down for a short while, I should have worn a jacket but it was still fun. Reality strikes back tomorrow as it get much colder with some snow in the forecast. Who knows how long before the streets are salt free again.

Added the scattershield to the black SRT and ordered a new OEM SC pulley bearing and serpentine belt. I think at 139,000 those parts have had enough birthdays, plus, the bearing was a little wobbly, so , I'm taking no chances.
Changed the oil in the SSB limited Roadster with a fresh fleece Mann filter. Found the OEM oil cap in the bowels on the catch tray.

I was unable to avoid a nice BIG pothole on I71 coming into downtown Cincinnati and dented the bead on the inner lip of one of the front wheels. AWESOME...

Here are some pics of some of the stuff I've done to my crossfire.
First off was the euro side marker light. I am really pleased as to the new look they give the car.

Last week I installed the new aftermarket cargo cover. Good job to red dog for making this aftermarket product available... Sure it is a little pricy but worth it in the end if I don't get my car broken into due to visible items in the back...
Overall it is a good cover. I give it an 8 out of 10.

Today I put in the HID lights in the dims and fogs. Fogs have 35w 5500K and the dims have the brighter 55w 6500K. By doing this configuration it gave me brighter dims and also made a better match is color with the fogs.
Installed are morimoto's. I am not crazy about all the long wires and components that you have to bundle up and tie together. It would be rather nice if they would be all put together in one clean package or have a sealed can to put it all in, specially for the fogs.. Oh well, in the end it's all hidden away anyways.. I am really happy with the look and brightness..

Here is a pic of the mounted assembly for the passenger fog light. I removed the front wheel well plastic cover in order to properly mount the assembly.
