I put HIDs back into my low beams. With less than stellar results from the cheap eBay kits I decided to pick up a set of the morimoto 4500k xb35 bulbs. These things are so much nicer! I can't wait till dark to see how they really perform.

Have been wanting to get the GMB caliper covers but the cost $199.00 plus tax So I bought 4 Brembo covers Red from China $33.99 will be for my Birthday Dec. 2nd. They don't fit look good but will just throw in the trash.

As of yesterday the car is filled with ethylene free gas and stored for the duration. I need to wash it as the temperature dropped rapidly, Monday 65 deg. and Wednesday 37 deg.
Snow on the ground this morning for the first time this year.

This will be the third or fourth wash this year, the back of the car gets dirty but the front is OK.

Hi 180.. I am in the same situation in manitoba.. Car is now parked for another winter.. It will give me some time to do some upgrades over the winter..
I, like yourself put in some premium fuel in the tank for storage.. Should I also put some stabilizer in the tank as well? I've heard conflicting stories on this site so I would like a little clarification. Also my xfire is stored in my heated shop..

I decided to order a Trex billet grille from T-Rex Grilles|4WO to change the front end look of my ride. It is a polished stainless one. I will upload pics once it is fitted.

Some swear by the stabilizer, but I do not put it in anymore. I attach the battery tender every month or so and move it back and forth a foot or so at the same time. She's eager to go in the spring. When it is washed I'll put the cover on, but it has to warm up a bit before I wash it though, maybe Friday.

Chrome Bolt Caps arrived today from JEGS. These come with plastic mounts for 7/16" or 10 mm hex heads. Installed these in the engine bay along both fenders and on the 2 screw heads that secure the hood latch.

Here's a link if anyone else is interested in these: SPECTRE Bolt Caps

Blacked out the area behind my grill. I purchased my upper & lower grills from Zunport through Red Dog. I like the way the grill matches the front profile of the XF.

https://www.crossfireforum.org/forum...h-grilles.html Go to post #222

Unless you have a black XF the car color shows through the grill.

Pictures are before & after. The picture showing the flat black paint still has the blue masking tape that I didn't remove until after the grill was installed. I used Rust-Oleum that I brush painted the vertical center support & areas around the radiator. Flat rattle can paint was used to paint the front fascia area right behind the grill.

Installed clear side marker lens to the rear and auto dimming rear view mirror.

Has anyone hooked up the reverse wire to shut the mirror off, and if so were did you run it to?

When I did the headliner recover I ran a wire from the dome light area to the rear tail light on the passenger side for future use.

Pin A9 of the Illumination Control Module ( the headlight switch assembly ) goes to pin 1 of the mirror connector.
It supplies +12v when in reverse, so I suppose you could use the +12v from the backup light to do the same thing, since you already have the wire run.

Me, I didn't bother since I seldom drive at night, and then, not in reverse.

Alex thanks for the pin a9 info - took a look at it today and from a quick glance seems like a pain to get the ICM out, but I'll check it out some more over the winter months and like you said I could just use the wire that I ran to the tail light assembly.

Today we put the Red Sled into hibernation.

Use the wire you added and tap in to one of your back-up lights, that's what I did

Just got back from putting a little over 40 miles on the odometer. I was planning on hitting the local Cars and Coffee this morning but for the second straight day we started with a dense freezing fog. Finally cleared up around noon.

Took her into CarMax just out of curiosity. I expected to be lowballed somewhat, but I really didn't expect to be insulted!!!
