I just replaced the internal lights only Carl. You can read more about LED replacements here:
https://www.crossfireforum.org/forum...ghts-leds.html

I haven't touched the outside lights at this time.

Stan,
Here in the "lowlands" of Denver, we don't always have snow on the ground contrary to popular belief. However, we are due for a foot starting on Saturday.

Evan> I'm referring to the light that's located inside the trunk...it's located on the left side (sitting in the drivers seat) and is about 2' in length...it's not outside the car.. Carl

Carl I would recommend searching on ebay for festoon style bulbs and get as close to the size as you can, then bend the tabs of the fixture to make it fit. I have done this to add LEDs to several of the XFs I have had. If you want some usable light from it, make sure to get SMD LEDs with at least 6 actual SMDs per bulb, more if they will fit.

It looks different, but the mount and plug are the same.

At any rate, now I have a good spare alarm module ( until the batteries die )
Your post made me interested. A year ago my alarm went off at random times by itself until finally it started chirping less and less and eventually died. I took that for a sign that batteries have died on the module. I haven't had a chance to look at it yet but my car being a 2004 and having read up on some info on the forum, I would assume the batteries have long leaked all over the siren electronics and therefore the whole module is probably done.
I mean, maybe it only needs batteries but I feel like I might have to get a new alarm module. How hard was it to install? The price sounds phenomenal. How did you know it would fit ours when it even looked different? Is there any way to tell before ordering?

Thanks for your help and info.
Nick

It is not difficult to replace at all, just remove the wiper arms and the plastic cowling and there it is in the middle.
The eBay add showed several views, and I was particularly concerned with the connector - it looked right, and was.
Like I said though, this was an older model alarm that doesn't have the 'chirp' feature for locking and unlocking.
I am sure, that even thought it looks new, it is most likely several years old and the battery life is unknown.

My daughter and I had a headlight polishing session.

WOW, what a difference and mine didn't seem to be that bad.

Pics are on her phone though.

Nine inches of snow on the ground and a blazing 15 degrees so another day of no driving. The gas gauge was resting on empty so I took the gas can to the station and bought a couple gallons. At least now when the day does come to drive the car I will have enough gas in the car to get to the gas station. Meanwhile I hooked up my new battery tender. I also checked all my lights and everything looks good.

Im running a 285 35 19 with spacers and I hit a rather nasty pot hole that cause the tire to catch the lip of the fender. I did notice a few light rub/scuff marks on the inner fender well but nothing to really worry about. I wouldnt wanna try it with out the spacers they are 10mm.

Did my first oil change since buying my XF & driving 3,000 miles. The FSS was showing 3,800 miles. I found an Auterra oil filter had been installed. Didn't look that bad at least it hadn't been crushed. A Google search indicated that it may have been put in at Jiffy Lube, so I may not have been running with Mobil 1. The Mobil 1 & Mann filter are in there now. Oil change went OK except for missing the drain container & ended up with a small oil spill in the driveway that has been cleaned up.

My XF was purchased from an independent dealer so there were no previous records.

Oil spills are best cleaned with Dawn dish liquid after mopping up the worst of it.
