What do you think about the quality of the chrome job.

I have a set and they look nice but just so you know they are U shaped and the edge against the door are not finished smoothly so that when you open the door they have a rough edge you can feel. Otherwise they are ok and the chrome seems good. It is nice to have them to match any other chrome you may have as they were the only piece not made by CTD. Ron

I learned something new . . . I recently bought a pair of "like new" SRT6 seats out of a wreck that only had 12K miles on the clock. When swapping the seats into into my rescue roadster I discovered that the passenger side seats are adjustable / moveable forward & backward and recline but do not move up & down. The switches and wiring are all present in the seat but the up / down motors are not factory installed into the passenger side seat framework. I never realized that before.

I currently have two extra pair of SRT6 seats available for parts if anyone needs seat parts . . . Already sent both of the driver's side seat switch panels to forum members but all other seat parts are still available. Let me know.

Put in a cheap armrest cushion. I'm short, so I needed a little more elbow support from the console.

Drove it to work. Supposed to be in the lower eighties the next few days. It will roll over to 14,000 on the way home.

Just ordered the springs/shocks suspension kit from Donovan at Ground Control Systems.
I know my particular project won't interest many/most owners, since many would want to have more handling/performance from the suspension, but I guess I'm the odd man out since I want a suspension that will take some of the harshness out of the ride, especially over rough pavement. Since Donovan can "custom " design the components, I'm getting the "touring" version of the setup. I'm looking for the car to be more of a comfortable long distance touring car that will be easier on my back after 10 hours in the car.

He said that the Konis can be set to 25 percent softer that the SRT shock, and that the stock NA shock is 15 percent softer than the SRT, so this should yield about 10 percent softer than stock NA shock.
So that combined with the linear springs, rather than the stock progressive springs, with a 16 percent softer spring rate for the rears, he says (and I'm hoping) will make a noticeable difference. Not trying to turn it into a Cadillac ( nothing wrong with a Cadillac!!), just want a somewhat smoother ride.

Donovan also said that this setup will give the car a (slightly?) more neutral balance, which will reduce understeer, and that sounds good to me too, although I never drive a car to its limit.

Plus the adjusters will enable the rear of the car to be lowered, and I think the car will look better lowered in the rear maybe an inch or so, visually reducing the amount of unfilled space in the rear wheel well.

Also I'm looking at the Mandrus wheels, 17x8 front and 18x8.5 rears, with tire diameters as close to stock as possible (25.1" front, 26" rear, correct?) That will add an inch of sidewall, which will add a little more cushion.

So this is a big experiment for me, I've never modified a car to the extent of customizing the suspension. Based on everything I've learned about shocks/springs and suspensions from Donovan, I have reasonably high expectations of achieving the objective of this project. He was really helpful and generous with his time, explaining all this to a neophyte.

Sounds like a well thought out plan to me.
Let us know the results, please.

I had a new set of Goodyear Eagle Sport tires put on the front thursday and took advantage of the great weather yesterday afternoon to wash and put on a quick coat of wax.

Backed mine out of the garage yesterday and fired her up and let her run for about 30 minutes while I did some housekeeping in the garage. I then wiped her down with some spray detailer, checked the fluids and the tire pressure. Sunny and 58 degrees, I just wanted to get in and go for a drive but, the roads are covered with salt and sand so it was back into the garage. Suppose to rain tonight so I am hoping the salt gets washed away so that I can get a drive in tomorrow.

Had an intermittant light out indicator last week on the drive back from visiting my sister.
Sure enough, the RH low beam HID wouldn't come on, and these are Moromoto's !
In the tradition of KISS, I swapped the fuses for left and right, no joy.
Sooooooo, I removed the headlight assembly ( moved water tank, CAI and all that ).
I found a corroded connector to the HID ballast and was able to remove the pin/socked from the connector and clean it up.
LET THERE BE LIGHT !!!!!!

Temperature got up to mid-to-upper 50's today. Uncoverd the Coupe, cleaned & polished all the lights (headlights, taillights & foglights). Swept & cleaned the interior (not really dirty, but gave me something to do). Then took the Coupe for a short spin. What a trip!

Later,

So, recently bought a MB engine cover to go with my NW single. Very happy with the purchase.
Also, got some thermal socks for the NW intake tube, I figured, it couldn't hurt.

Finally, re-installed capacitors with my new speaker set up, very happy with the results!

Where did you get them from, and did it make any difference with the IAT ?

Nah, they are more just for looks. 3 Sick Speed thermal socks from Ebay. I got a gray color to match my intake piping.

I haven't been monitoring my IAT up until just now so....???? They can't hurt right?

What is a typical IAT i should expect with single NW in relation to Ambient temp?

It all depends on the ambient temp.
If ambient is below 40, then IAT will run somewhere around ambient + 7-10
ambient at 60, then + 10-12
ambient at 80 then +17-20
ambient over 90, then +20-25

all these numbers are crusin at 55-65
when you stop, all bets are off.

Can not remember the last time I got to drive the car. Way less snow around here than last year but, the road crews around here can not seem to resist dumping tons of salt and what looks like pea gravel for every dusting of snow. After starting and running the car in the driveway or garage for the last month I am now very low on gas so I may have to bite the bullit and go to the gas station.

I scored an alarm module off eBay for $23.59 shipped, installed it today and it works FINE !
( however, it does not beep on lock/unlock like I hoped it would )
This part was pulled from a 2003 Mercedes-Benz CL600 AMG.
It looks different, but the mount and plug are the same.

At any rate, now I have a good spare alarm module ( until the batteries die )
