What did you do to your Crossfire today?
Battery got a dead cell, so I went to town and got a agm battery from advance auto. Then went to a tire shop to try and find rims. While I was there the guy behind counter told me they had a crossfire yesterday and the guy just bought it off craigslist from a older lady that wanted it out of her yard 77k miles 6spd for $1,000. AHHHHH. Just 10 miles of my house. I been on craigslist daily looking for XFires and parts in my area. Got real busy at work last week missed it. ;( and yes price was $1000

The windows at least have Chrysler Pentastars on them
There really isn't anything that is true Chrysler about the car. But it is more a Chrysler than the Sprinter ever was.
At least it's not a TC.

Wow, what a small world. My buddies Wife graduated from Cuyahoga Falls High School. In 1971. He graduated from Hoban, in 1969.
His 280 Z came from Tri-City Datsun in Tallmadge (no longer there by the way).
The 914 that I talked him out of was from Cascade Motors out on Rt. 8.
Is your friends Z white or silver? I can't tell from the photograph. I don't remember ever seeing it around our area. Trust me, I look at everyone I see. I love em. My biggest regret is that I didn't buy a brand new "left over" 1978 Datsun 280 Z instead of the later model 79 280 ZX.
The Z's have a "Timeless" design.
It would be cool to meet your friend, I'd love for my buddy to see his car, maybe it would give him the incentive to get his back on the road. He and his Wife live over in Fairlawn now. He also has an absolutely beautiful 1970 Mustang Mach I (That originally came from North Carolina.) Like the Z, both cars have been parked for years.
Mike
You are correct, it is a small world. I graduated from Cuyahoga Fall in 1961 and then went into the Navy.
My friend Jim still lives in the Falls and owns Akron Tire and Frame in Akron. That is where he rebuilds Datsun as a hobby. His Datsun is white and at his place of business, he has several Z;s there for parts. Ha is also the VP of a Datsun club I think out of Cleveland.
Jim can repair anything on a Z since his shop is setup for big trucks and equipment.
If you stop in, tell Jim that you have been talking with me, Fred Harmon thru the CrossfireForum.

I had my deck lid wrapped today at TVP in Raleigh NC. I love it! Had it set to match the black in that area.

Just did kyb and Rear sway bar links too. Car is super tight and little bumpy. I think the car will track amazingly now with very little $ however my drive to work is not all that comfy. I'm committed to the mod and I plan to keep the shocks I waited for but I wouldn't have gone through all the trouble if I knew then what I know now. My limited roadster loved the ebiach springs with stock suspension. Very smooth ride, minor body roll but awesome traction. Kyb has improved traction even more and the body is as stiff as a board.

lidaddym: have 19" all around...I don't notice any drastic change in the ride/handling, I think, however, it does "stick" somewhat better...ran it aggressively during the Spring Dragon with 285x35x19... went real well...Carl

Greg: nice looking rim...are they very expensive?Carl
Re: What did you do to your Crossfire today?
Looking like they might be.. depends on how much she likes them though..
These thoughts are running through my mind too.. compensate with a taller tire maybe..

With staggered we can't rotate but with the gmax's members are still reporting 40-45k miles without rotating. I run 275/35 on back and stiffer sidewalls on front. I do drive 2-4 hrs in my XFire twice a week. I thought about getting a spare set tires-rims I could rotate but since I got the gmax's. I would not consider it, I like the staggered a lot better on our cars. Having skinnies on back takes away from part of the point with our cars. I just wish I could find silver 18x8.5 19x10.5 rims that fit at a descent price.

Re: What did you do to your Crossfire today?
Nothing as cool as new wheels, just took mine for drive. My son is studying for finals so I ran him some food for lunch, it was more to show him the tint I had done about two weeks ago. As I was heading out of my neighborhood I passed two young men (late teens, early 20's), as I passed one of them yelled out "Like the whip!". Then as I was leaving the sub shop the guy behind the counter threw me a "Nice car." I don't know about anyone else but, I never get tired of shout outs.
