A great day here in southwestern Ohio, partly cloudy and a pleasant 61 degrees. I pulled the Crossfire out of the garage here at home and decided to drive to the storage unit where my Daytona Turbo Z resides. Just a little cool to put the top down but, decided to put on a heavy hoodie on go for it. Turned out it was perfect. Got the Turbo Z out for the first time since October and took it for a quick drive. My storage unit is fully stocked with detail products so while I was waiting for the Z to cool down I went over the Crossfire with some detailer. I also raised the top half way and checked everything in that area. No sign of leaking water or hydraulic fluid from the top cylinders but, it could use a minor detailing to remove some dust and debris that has worked it's way in there.

I got all proactive and changed out the 722.6 ( NAG1 ) transmission connector housing.
Mine wasn't leaking, and after removal I saw why. It had good ROUND BLACK O rings, this sucker had already been upgraded.
O well, at least now I know it's fixed.

NOTE: If you do this DIY, be prepared for about 12 ounces of fluid, depends on how fast you are removing the old housing and getting the new housing in place. I put all the fluid back in that came out.

Took a nice drive today. Needswings cai and eurocharged tune come this week, looking forward to experience the change in performance.

I've figured out the best performance mod for the Crossfire and its only $1500!!!!!

Step 1: Store your car for the winter
Step 2: Buy an automatic 1992 Volvo 245 wagon for $1500
Step 3: Drive said Volvo for 5 months; caution 0 to 60mph is pretty quick.. like ten minutes quick..
Step 4: Take Crossfire out of storage
Step 5: Drive Crossfire and instantly feel like you're driving something with 500hp

But if you live in Fl. you can save $4000.00 a year and really drive a crossfire with over 500 hp
1. you do not have to store your car for the winter
2. you do not have to buy anything as drive your crossfire year round
3.n/a
4.n/a
5. we do drive a crossfire with 500 hp but we drive it every day.
6. we do not have to spend $2500. winter coats, and stuff.
7. move to Florida priceless

Thats ok, with global warming, Wisconsin will have Florida temps soon and I will be able to drive all year round. It will be to hot for you people down south in the summer and you will need to wait for the cool season (only three months a year probably) to drive your crossfires.

LOL the one thing here is a must that is A C ,you see year around we go from aircondition house to the aircondition car to the aircondition store (yes they are all airconditioned down here. just so u understand the weather in Ft.Lauderdale (not Orlando) it gets hotter all over the U.S. than it does here .including Wisconsin. sorry to burst your bubble about the weather,,, I have lived all over the us ,including Rapid city SD.and being we have choices in life , mine is to NEVER to go into cold weather ,,that means anything below 50 degrees

Today I tried a product for the first time. Getting olderish makes lots of paint care steps take too long so I went looking to cut a step if possible. Meguiars Ultimate compound. SAY WHAT! Yep but don't let the name scare you. It's a hair more aggressive than Scratch X 2.0, 205 and No. 9 but way less the No. 2, 105, 85, 84, 83 etc. So after a good wash with lots of bubbles and drying with my faithful waffle towels, it was time to get down to business. I used Meguiars Professional Clay (mild) with detail spray. Then I loaded the Porter Cable with an orange pad. The Meguiars Ultimate works real quick. A 1 x 1 foot test section made my day. Great results without having work slow. I had some marks from hitting a drum and a few cones on the door and some scuffs on the rear bumper from a yellow Porsche and they went bye bye with no fuss. The drivers door had tons of micro scratches. Don't drive through a rain storm and use detail spray to clean up the mess like me. All gone. I'm real impressed. So how did my race car turn out?

Was the Porsche giving you a push because you were too slow?
Shiny cars go a bit faster, so we want to see more good results.

Buttoned up the fender liner and the belly pan after putting in a new IC pump, got the insurance back on the car. Tomorrow it's down the road to get a temporary permit while the pollution readings are reset in the computer.

A link broke in rear of the 300 last night which gave me lots of negative camber, so much that the tire rubbed on the cover of the shock. I drove twenty miles or so like this, if it had been the Crossfire it would have came home in style on the back of a flat bed .

That car has not been good to you lately. Time to buy the Misses an SSB SRT6 with new Hankooks?

Spark plugs and wires from Needswings! Glad I did it, the idle is a bit smoother and the old plugs were very difficult to remove at 49k miles. Have to get a smog check this week and then the DCAI and new pulleys go on.
