"Needswings" Intake review...
Parts/Components: Every part was high quality and fit snug. Placement of the filter is about as ideal as it can get. At the track several tuner shop owners commented on how good the placement of the filter was behind the grill giving it a true ram air punch. Brackets for the relocation of the horn and condenser line were high quality and finished. The intake itself is very clean looking even without the powdercoat.
Install: Installation is very easy. The toughest part was getting the old intake plastic out of the front bumper. I had mine completed in 40 minutes with no directions other than a quick call to Rob at needswings. He sent the install directions during install and I read through them when I was done. They looked good with great pics of the whole process step by step.
Performance: The first thing you'll notice is that you can now hear the blower! It's sound is eerily familiar to a terminator cobra with an aftermarket blower but more muted. The intake noise is now also there and sounds great. You can hear a very strong "whoosh" especially at WOT. Seat of the pants gains are there with more pull in the midrange and an overall much more urgent throttle feel. Stock with no intake my car ran 13.2@105 and with the intake it ran 12.9@107 in similar conditions at the same track.
Overall I am VERY happy with this product and hope Rob at needswings decides to build us some more aftermarket parts for this beast!
