Default My 1/4 mi times with the XF.

Well took the XF to the track with my SRT-4 club since my SRT-4 wasn't ready.

The crossfire is such a pita to launch. Found a better way to launch near the end. This traction control...ugh. Most runs were 15.1's. But I got it down to a best of...

XFSlip.jpg

That run was againt a Saturn Ion Redline, the car moved out pretty good.

My best trap speed was 93.32, but that was when I pulled the fuse for the wing. Had one more 93.00 and rest were 92's. The slip is with the wing working. If the traction control wasn't the gheyness, and with a bit more time working with the lame duck clutch(use to racing the SRT). I would have hit a 14.8, and if all the planets were aligned right perhaps a 14.799 could have happened. The car just didn't have the power to do any better, I was even WOT shifting.

Oh, to finish the debate about the SRT-4 getting beat by non srt-XF's, I don't see how it is possible. My friend even missed a gear and still beat me in E.T. and out trapped me. I got pounded by every stock and modded SRT at the meet, only won one race out of my 8 runs, my total time was .2 faster than another redline that was there. R/T's can win races. :-D

Still was fun as hell. On a side note, one of our members ran 11.92@117 w/ Stage3R/exhaust/and slicks. Also my time corrected for D/A like magazines do would be- 14.65 @ 94.41

Looks like fun, What a great way to spend the weekend. Don't feel bad, I had my A$$ handed to me this weekend by a SRT4 as well as 30+ other cars, I only placed higher than the moped with the blinking lights and the blind guy in the electric wheel chair, and he would have beat me too, but his batteries ran out.

PS, my sentiments exactly about the TC. UGH !!! But I think I inadvertently figured out a way to disengage it completely. Just remove everything from the interior of your car, including most of the wiring and miraculously it doesn't work any more... Mine has gone KAPUT !

A Saturn ION Redline ran a 13.9@103 mph. I wonder if had the factory installed Stage I or II kit that's out right now, damn that's pretty good.

oh crap look at all the SRT4's... like lemmings... i miss it but i do not miss seeing one every day ! especially since every SRT4 owner you meet is into cars so its like you are ALL the same when you get together (admittedly some are tools and dumbas*es while other are not haha).

is there a limit to the number of pics that we can post on a thread? i know it's 4 to a single reply but i've tried creating a new reply with more pics but they're not showing up?

HDDP, how did that M coupe fair? I have always been a huge fan of those munstermobiles.

Watch the video, you'll be impressed at the speed he overtook me... I was doing 100 + on the back straight and he passed me at 130 +

Seems to be more people interested in dragging their base/limited, figured I would bump this so people know.

I've considered dragging my Crossfire but I don't really see the point. The only 1/4 mile strip around here is at California Speedway - prep is horrible and it's usually hotter than Hades and windier than, well, something that's really damn windy!

I've managed a 14.46 @ 94 mph in my PT Cruiser Turbo under those horrific conditions and I know the Crossfire won't touch that. I also don't really care because that isn't what the Crossfire is all about. On a road course it's waaay more fun!!!

I just pulled a 14.6 @ 96 mph with absolutely horrible traction. So I'm positive the Crossfire can not only touch that time, but smash it.
