Default Stock SRT6 injector flow numbers

Trying to resolve a discrepancy:

51.6 lbs/hr @ 55.1 PSI / 14.5 Ohms based on 380 kPA = 3.8 bars = 55.1 PSI
The published data above is equal to 45.8 lbs/hr @ 43.5 psi (3 bar) - using sqrt(43.5/55.1) as the multiplier.

This test data is equal to 43.8 lbs/hr @ 55 psi or 39.0 lbs/hr @ 43.5 psi. - using the same formula.

So which is correct for the stock SRT6 injectors? 45.8 pph or 39 pph?
If the above test was taken at 43.5 psi instead of the quoted 55 psi, that would make the tested and published numbers much more close.

MB 1120780349, 1130780123, Bosch 0280156304

My brain cramped up trying to decipher the math there. This is a good one for Woody, but he's busy finalizing the install of his new posi rear diff. right now if I'm not mistaken. I'm certain he'd know this.

I've read elsewhere that Bosch uses a different weight fluid. Who knows, the www is full of contradictions.

I hope this can help

Interesting. The test sheet which tunaglove posted shows the injector p/n as Bosch 0280156072. Both the test data and stan weiss' table show this as a 39 lb/hr injector (closer to 38 in the weiss table).

However, this pic:

Puzzling that DC (or MB) would supply a replacement that is some 15% larger.

It seems that it would be a good idea to do the cleaning/flow testing that Tunaglove had done if you have "replacement" injectors w/ different P/N's. It is a very affordable service. Balancing/Blueprinting is extra.

I have the same xxx072 injectors that Tuna shows. I actually just bought 6 new ones... only because I found them for $20/ea NIB!

So where exactly did you find the Bosch injectors so cheap? I've been wanting to buy new injectors and have them balanced.

That's cool! You can send them all in and choose the six that flow the closest. I used Witchunter Performance and will use them again.

I found the guy on the Benz forum. Not sure what truck they fell off of, but don't really care either... lol

Not sure if he still has any, but his e-mail is: baileyj76@hotmail.com (his name is Jeff).

I know that this is off-topic, but I had to post.

My Mini Cooper S has 550cc injectors in it.
Just sayin.

Anyway, I would be interested to know which ones are correct and at what percent load or capacity they are at when we boost the air flow into our motors.

I think I may have answered my own question. In this thread:

https://www.crossfireforum.org/forum...tml#post191026

BB mentions he is replacing *one* injector. It is light-blue bosch p/n xxxx304.

In this pic:

https://www.crossfireforum.org/forum...tml#post238263

It shows one light blue and 5 black injectors. Why a different color??

HDDP states his guy at bosch reports a 45 lb/hr (@ 3 bar) which jives with the xxx304 number.

tuna's test sheet shows a xxx072 p/n and 39 lb/hr (@ 3 bar)

This post on MB states that the C32 AMG (same injector?) is p/n xxx072 and are black:

fuel injectors ? - MBWorld.org Forums

Buggin's are xxx072

The stan weiss table shows xxx072 are a 38 lb/hr (@3 bar) which jives with some posts by TVT

A google of xxx072 shows it as fitting C32 and SLK32 AMG and also fits early x55 AMG. The xxx304 fits the late x55 AMG.

I feel both bosch and DC have a wrong p/n as the SRT6 replacement and the stock one is supposed to be the black 38'ish lb/hr 072, not 304.

So BB has one larger injector? LOL! I looked and could not find any info on the 304 injector, maybe it's the same flow rate. can we buy the 304s?

The same chart rates the 304 as 51lbs/hr.

Stan Weiss' - Electronic Fuel Injector (EFI) Flow Data Table
That's what it looked like to me.

Yes the 304's are 51 lb/hr when operating at the SRT's 55 psi. They are 44-45 lb/hr at the often-quoted standard of 43.5 psi (3 bar).

Yes you can buy the 304's. Look for MB p/n 1130780123. Parts.com has them for $116.

To summarize:

Stock SRT6 OEM, C/SLK 32 AMG, and early 5.5L SC AMG, black: Bosch 0280156072, MB 1120780349, 38-39 lb/hr depending on who's number you believe (@ 3 bar).

SRT6 replacement, late 5.5L SC AMG, light-blue: Bosch 0280156304. MB 1130780123, 44-45 lb/hr @ 3 bar, 4-hole.

Mclaren SLR, light-blue: Bosch 0280156148, MB 1550780049. 44-45 lb/hr @ 3 bar, 6-hole (better atomization).

I installed a set of the 304 44lbs injectors in today. My fuel trims started migrating back towards zero right away after a short drive. Seat of the pants is a big yes, we'll see. Tuna
