Needswings Pulley Saver Kit, TORQUE SPECS
Hey guys,
I'm reinstalling the pulley saver kit after having to do my alternator. one of the pulleys got in the way and had to be temporarily removed. does anyone have the torque specs handy? i don't have the instructions on me and can't get a hold of Rob at the moment.
thanks

Re: Needswings Pulley Saver Kit, TORQUE SPECS
When I designed the kit I followed standard military spec. parameters for the fasteners. Basically you tighten the fastener till it strips and then back the nut off 1/2 turn.
Actually I did not torque it as I used grade 8 bolts and snugged the nut till it was tight. Thats a subjective answer, sorry never thought that it needed a torque, just 6" wrench tight, no breaker bar used here. Woody

Most important is to not overtighten and smash the bearing.

Re: Needswings Pulley Saver Kit, TORQUE SPECS
The manual refers to them as the Supercharger Idler Pulley and the Accessory Drive Belt Idler Pulley.
The Torque Specification Table in the Cooling section lists the S/C idler pulley @ 14 Ft. Lbs.
However, the installation instructions say to torque both pulleys along with the upper S/C mounting bolt to 15 Ft. Lbs.
I've ran across a few places in the manual where the table and instructions differ.

Woody did the original design and (frankenstien) fab of the pulley kit and brace. Then he gave it to Rob to refine into something we could buy. I just did a prelim of a bracket to keep the Idler pulley supported....
(well, I might have made a couple of spacers for Woody... )
